SEO for French Site

Warriors,

What would you recommend me to do in terms of SEO for French Site.

I am sure there aren't many article directories, social bookmarking sites even few Web 2.0 properties that will accept French content.

Give me your recommedation of building links for my french site.

It is very easy to rank well for a non-English site. Submit your site to French search engines. Many French internet users use other search engines apart from Google.

There's also Yahoo France at yahoo.fr and Yahoo Quebec at qc.yahoo.ca.

Yes you need to add your site into french search engines. and Do some niche work for your site.

I want to build links, so will Web 2.0 sites allow french content?? Does anyone have experience in building links for Non-English??

You can easily use english directories if your targeted keyword has no special characters like é,è, etc. Most french do not even use those characters while doing their daily searches. Just post an english article and include your keyword as anchor for your link.

Having a non English anchor makes it even very easy to do blog commenting since you can use your keyword as your name and the blog owner will probabaly not suspect what you are doing since the name will not look spammy to him/her.
