My website was hacked with iframe injection 2 days ago. The index page was displaying a "parse error" due to the injection. Google crawled the website and it is showing the parse error as the description of the website when I search for my website on google. I've cleaned the website and restored it to normality. Google still shows the "parse error" as my website description, and I've fallen from 1st place to 9th due to that. How long does it take to google to re-crawl my website and "fix" the description? Is there anything I can do to "speed up" the process? Thanks! |

Log in to 'webmaster tools' and send a reconsideration request. Mention what you've done to fix it. They will manually review it in 7-10 days.

Yeah this has happened to me a few times. You have to go to webmaster tools and submit a reconsideration request. Must sure you remove the threat before you submit the request. Also, ask nicely! |

I went to webmaster tools but they say they didnt find any malware on my site, maybe I removed it fast enough not to appear there. - Do you still think I should submit the request? But the thing is, I've lost my rankings dut to this. When I search for my website I'm no longer in the 1st place, I'm about 9th place and the description of the website is an error due to the injection, not my website meta description. I've removed the threat but I don't know how long it will take for google to re-crawl my website and "fix" the meta description and give me back the ranking I had before this mess. Also, I would like to know if there is anything I can do to speed-up this process? Thanks a lot! |

Don't submit a reconsideration request. Once Google crawls your website again.. probably once in two weeks you will see your old description back. Your rankings will improve soon after. |

Only use reconsideration request if your site is delisted from google's index. In your case, you mentioned that your site is still listed in google but lost it rankings. Give it time and google will crawl your site again and index it properly. However, you can speed it up by driving a couple of links to your site...
