Anyone know of a wordpress plugin that turns a page into a category listing?

Hey guys and gals,

Does anyone know of a wordpress plugin that allows you to insert a token, say:

[category-tree]

into the page, that will populate all the categories for you, so it looks like an article directory with the number count next to the category keyword

ie
category 1 (23)
category 2 (12)

etc, etc?

and possibly to have it like an ezine category format, where the top category is a drop down to reveal all the other sub categories?

The plugin would have a setting in admin area to allow you to enter the names of the categories, plus the slug (permalink).. then once clicked on, it'll take you to the category archive..

Look up "wordpress silo plugin" there are a few, some cost a few bucks. You may be able to find a free one though.

Categories

category4 (33)

Code:

 
<?php wp_list_categories('show_count=1&title_li=<h2>Categories</h2>'); ?>

This will return:

category1 (12)
category2 (27)
category3 (42)
category4 (33)

You might also search for wp_list_categories
