High PR Sites turning to Zero

I have a number of High ranking PR sites that I use for backlinks in the form of commenting, but my question is this. Many of the sites main pages have high ranking PR's but once you click on an idividual story or thread (for forums) the page rank will often drop to zero. Am I wasting my time by posting to these pages or do they produce some link juice?

It just means google is not displaying a value in the toolbar for that page, but it does NOT mean that page doesn't have pagerank.

The reason that Index page has the highest PR is, chances are every single page on your site has an internal link pointing to the Index page.

The individual page might have just a few internal links pointing at that specific page (category page, etc...).

You're not wasting your time. It doesn't necessarily mean one needs to see before believing something does exist.

It is valuable, you can sell links on your site as well.

Its natural in my opinion. Its very difficult to increase the pagerank of all pages in a website . So usually webmasters only concentrate on improving the pagerank of home page. There are only some websites which have high pagerank for most of their internal links. like Twitter.
So i think getting backlinks from those websites with high home pagerank and zero pagerank for internal pages can help you a lot. Only note to get backlinks from quality websites. Its important.
