I have noticed a significant drop in impressions over as of October 20, 2010. I used to get about 1,500 - 2,000 clicks a day; now getting only 100 - 200. CTR and every other parameter is the same, except for the number of impressions. Used to be millions of impressions a day, now only thousands. I checked Matt Cutt's twitter updates and sure enough he says Google team is working to resolve the issues. Here is the article he twitted Is Google Broken? Sites Big & Small Seeing Indexing Problems It appears to be an issue with indexing. I am not sure how this affects AdWords but apparently it does. Anyone else is seeing significant drop in impressions as of October 20th? |

Yes the same here. It nice (not for you) to hear it is affecting others. I was getting worried it was me. Dan |

| Thank you for confirming my assumptions. Seeing that it affects others gives me the confidence that they will fix it because apparently they are losing money since the advertisers do not pay as much as they normally do.

I haven't noticed any difference in page impressions and clicks, but my empire is not as large as yours.

Control of Adwords is totally by Google and no other one can change or optimize it. I think Google will solve this problem in the future days. Don't worry at all about it. nothings wrong with your website. Its the Google problem. But something else is probable. Are you sure there aren't new advertisers with very higher BIDs than yours who submitted their ads on adwords? |

Right now I am only getting about 10% impressions of what I used to get, and also the drop is attributed to content impressions, not search impressions. Search impressions have stayed the same, so it is unlikely that some big advertiser suddenly started bidding on all of my content keywords. I know who are my biggest competitors bidding on the same keywords. There aren't any new ones from what I can see.

If all things stay the same, how does indexing affect CTR or impressions? That would depend on the traffic one generates. Paul |

Impressions dropped, and they only dropped on content network, not on search. Content is the websites where my ads are displayed. Websites don't get inexed - therefore they've lost traffic, thus I have lost impressions on those sites that aren't getting traffic. I think that's the problem.

CTR was an error on my part. The impressions are perplexing. Why would you need a constant flow of new websites or new stuff to be indexed in order to get the same impressions? You would lose traffic if the sites were de-indexed. I would hate to base my business on the public's ability to create, upload, and index new content. Paul |

My total impression also greatly declined in the past few days. Well, it's always not sunshine. |

I have not touched my campaigns or the landing pages. In fact campaigns ran so well that I have not touched them in 2 months. Suddenly I looked at my leads count for the day in my Aweber account and was shocked at how few leads I had compared to the previous day and all eight months of running this particular campaign. I went to check my Adwords account and sure enough, everything stayed the same except for the number of impressions on the content network. How do you explain it?

I agree...something is up...and has been for a few weeks. I saw NO SERP movement for some of my sites in over a month. Last weekend...finally, upward movement. The recent changes in WMT showing links,...there have just been some 'signs' that something is up.

I found this forum because I was looking for a reason why my impressions dropped by 87% in the last few days... My QS didn't change at all and I have 12 campaigns with the same problem. Did you start getting your impressions back? not me ![]() Help! |

I tried to modify my campaigns to increase impressions by adding more keywords and increasing my bid. The end result is the same though, but because of the additional keywords that aren't as relevant and increased CPC is it just costing me more per CPM and yet impressions are about the same except for the additional impressions attributed to additional keywords.
