Hi, I am looking for a handful of dofollow forums for my niche. The thought is to use them for regular posting and hopefully to get a backlink here en there from that posting. The question is, how to I locate do follow forums? I see from the source code at warriorfourm, that the sig links here ar no follow and not counted in as backlinks by google. Second off all... If profile links are no good SEO wise, then why are there people who believe that the web 2.0 profile Nuke in SEnuke is the best weapon then is? Im kindda confused here.. dont really want to go ahead with forum posting of they wont help me in ranking.. Then I would rather spend that time on writing more articles. |

I wrote a post on this last Friday here You can have Backlinks for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Get that tool, follow the instructions in the post and you will be able to find backlinks all you want. Just point the tool at a competitor or sites that you know use forum links. |

The quick and dirty way is to do footprint searches for stuff like: "powered by vbulletin" +keyterm. Have seoquake turned on. Look for decent PR/aged sites. Visit them with nodofollow plugin turned on in firefox. Check profiles are public, check links are followed. Create profile, add a link to it, do a few decent posts with a sig link as well. As for the profile link question. Who says they are worthless? And why would they be more worthless than the sig links you want? If you want a hell of a lot more detail on finding footprints check the site in my signature. |

Just to buff up Jazbo's suggestion of searching for footprints here is a couple i use: “powered by wordpress” “leave a comment” Inurl:.edu “Powered by wordpress” Inurl:.gov “Powered by WordPress” Inurl:.ac.uk “Powered by wordpress” BlogEngine Inurl:.edu “Powered by BlogEngine.NET 1.4.5.0? Inurl:.gov “”Powered by BlogEngine.NET 1.4.5.0? Inurl:.ac.uk “Powered by BlogEngine.NET 1.4.5.0? “Powered by BlogEngine” "powered by vbulletin" "powered by yabb" "powered by ip.board" "powered by phpbb" "powered by phpbb3" "powered by invision power board" "powered by e-blah forum software" "powered by xmb" "powered by: fudforum" "powered by fluxbb" "powered by forum software minibb" "this forum is powered by phorum" "powered by punbb" "powered by quicksilver forums" "powered by seo-board" "powered by smf" "powered by ubb.threads" "powered by the unclassified newsboard" "powered by usebb forum software" "powered by xennobb" "powered by yaf" "Powered By MyBB" "Powered by IP.Board" Another solution would be to go and grab the best scraping tool out there 'Scrapebox' - this is probably one of the most under-priced tools I use. |

In my opinion you can easily find PR6 blog pages where you can post instead of 1,2 or 3 PR forum pages !

You can search with term, "keyword+FORUM". You will get list of forum related to your topic. Most of the forum allow signature and dofollow. But don't spam there. Thanks |

I don't know if you can call this "old fashioned" but I simply use SEO4Firefox. It allows you to turn on/off the ability to see whether or not a link is dofollow or not. It highlights any nofollow links in red. Then I just google "my niche forums" and browse each forum looking for signature links. It's actually scary how many forums that offer signature links are nofollow.

Simply install a firebug plugin in order to view whether the link created using forum is of do follow or no follow relation.

The fact is most of vBulletin forums are dofollow. If you are looking to find forums in any specific niche then this search term would help: "powered by vbulletin" + intitle:SEO|google|yahoo|web design|email marketing|Adsense|Affiliate Marketing|Article Marketing|Social|Twitter|Facebook|business this way you would have a good list of webmaster forums |
