Okay so I have an old site. I created it in a FLASH based site creator called Moonfruit in about 2004 so no html. It has no pages apart from a holding splash page which has less than 100 words on. It gets about 3 hits a day Took a look at it today and it has a PageRank of 2 ... which given all of the above has left me a bit confused dot com?? Interestingly I compared it to a live site in the same niche done on Wordpress with lots of fresh content ... this guy loves his site and he has PR2 as well! The only thing I can think is that the age of the site must an very important factor to Google. Anyone got any ideas why my PR is so high??? John |

PR2 is not exactly high, but PR is calculated by factors not related to content. You could have a lousy, non-updated site with PR5. I think there is a ceiling, however, when more effort is required. But I've seen lousy, derelict PR7 sites. Biggest factor is backlinks and the value of them. Paul |

Appreciate PR2 is not high but given the state of the site I am still amazed it has any ranking whatsoever
