Default Too early to get indexed?

I registered a domain and built a site today and in spite of doing all the typical "index my site" stuff, google isn't picking it up at all yet.

Should I have waited until tomorrow to try and start indexing/ranking operations?

Why do you even worried about it?
its only 1 day old.
Worry about content. on page SEO.

and so give it 1-2 weeks then start offpage.

I say start building backlinks ASAP!

The faster your backlinks are picked up, the faster G will find you.

Dude, even if you get indexed right this second, you're still probably going to be on the 100th page of google. And in that case, you're just as good as not indexed anyway.

Like everyone said, build backlinks. And if you really want to get indexed quickly, drop a dofollow link on a PR5+ site. That'll get you indexed within minutes sometimes.

remember, 2 things getting index and getting rank is two different things. both are important and getting rank is really important as there is where the money is

so, focus on two things, backlinks and contents....

indexing and ranking will come, but it will need time. so just be patient...

just based on my experience. hope it helps.

good luck

He's not saying to build 4000 backlinks in one day. 10, 20, 50. That's all.

If I told everyone I have a new website, & didn't tell them the URL. How easy would it be for everyone to find me?

If you wanted to get it indexed then submit its feeds to feedlisting.com and ping it through pingler.com. Still not indexed then put its link on any old free blogspot by posting some new content there.

lol on the 4 weeks to get indexed comment.

I would focus on developing your content as well as building a few inbound links. It can be indexed fast at times.

I made all the content earlier today. Only thing left is linking, indexing and ranking.

I've had new sites get indexed within an hour before but they weren't domains I had just purchased that day either.

Wait a few days, and start building backlinks by post in forums, comment in blogs. Google will automatically index your site and pages.

To get indexed quickly by Google you need to start building links ASAP. Your site will be indexed once the Googlebot spiders the web

The websites you have before and was indexing fast were blogs i think. Usually Google index blogs fast. Specially blogger and wordpress blogs. But if you want that your new domain to be indexed faster, you should make backlinks for it. I don't suggest you to build a lot of backlinks for it because in this case it will be penalized. But you should make a few number of backlinks for it every day to be indexed and ranked in Google.

Here's another little tid-bit that I learned from listening to the Matt Cutts stuff.. Spidering, Indexing and Ranking happen at different times and they're different operations.

A website may have been found by a search spider, but not yet added to the index.
A website might have been indexed, but not yet had all of it's link juice and ranking factors applied..
A website must then be RANKED....

THese 3 things happen at different times and not necessarily all at once.... or even in the same day unless it's happening news or big authority sources.. Or really popular...

One thing to keep in mind is that you can do the same things to every site as far as getting them indexed and some of your sites will index right away and some will take awhile.

I really don't think there is any ryme or reason to when Google decides to index a site.

I suggest doing what has already been said and that is to start building links.

I just brought up a site 2 days ago, haven't built any links, and one of the pages in ranked #10 for the keyword it's targeting. It's not the first time I've done it either. If the OP is targeting some low competition keyword, the same thing could happen.

Chances are unless you have links on HIGHLY SPIDERED sites, then you won't see it indexed right away. It can take anywhere from 24-hrs to a week. But here's the good news:

The more links you have to your site right away, the faster Google will find your website. It's easy to build thousands of links (without getting sandboxed) to get your site indexed in less than 24 hours. I've done it without breaking a sweat with the last 5 sites I built (not kidding).

Think: Scrapebox.

What I tend to do is put a link to my new site on one of my authority sites - this way it gets picked up within 24 hours.

Don't worry about it, it takes time to get indexed, I had a new site that some posts get indexed within an hour and some in a day or two without doing anything. Just start to build backlinks to your site will be fine.

An easier way to get some incoming links to your site is to submit it to web directories. As you can guess, web directories are indexed lists of sites, so your site is unlikely to be refused a link unless it is a poor quality site or in some other way unacceptable. Many web directories specialize in certain topics such as health, religious or family matters. You should not submit your site to a specialized directory if its purpose is completely unrelated. The most popular web directories will require payment for an entry, while for others, payment will get you a more prominent entry or speedier inclusion.

Don't rush things, mate. Wait for atleast 2-3 weeks. Surely SERPs will pick up your site by that time.

I normally build a site and let it sit for a while.. (whats the point in rushing) and then after 2-3 weeks i will slowly start to build links to the site.

Start an AdWords campaign for that website, wait till one of the adverts is approved then stop your campaign - this forces Google to spider your website (thus being indexed).
