A dofollow blog means it allows search engine spiders to crawl and follow the link. If you comment on a dofollow blog a backlink will be created, thus the search engine spiders will crawl your link back to your site. Thus it will give some SEO benefits for your site.

There are available add ons you can use to check if blog is either do follow or no follow. Comments on do follow blogs has more relevancy to search engines.

Ideally you want your own private proxies, but SB does come with it's own public proxy scraper.
