What is really the best (cost effective) way to drive targeted traffic to my website?

I'm fried out on wasting money on Google PPC. And during my research I've discovered one scam after another.

If you've used a program or know of something that works, please pass the word and help this newbie!

Rank for your keywords in the search engines. Since the traffic you get in the search engines is free, it doesn't matter if you get untargeted traffic.

If you use PPC, it's all about exclusion. Always use exact keyword matching. Craft your landing page exactly for that keyword. Pick keywords with high conversion. Then gradually expand.

PPC can work very well, but it requires a certain learning curve. The big advantage of PPC is that you can generate traffic immediately. To get started, bid only on specific long tail keywords (avoid very generic kws). Also, it's a good idea to get started only with buyer kws - this won't generate a lot of traffic, but it should give you the highest converting traffic. That way you can quickly estimate if your product, niche, landing page... has a sufficiently high conversion potential.

If ppc has given you bad experience then you must choose to go for seo in which at least you will get greater visibility ....

Having a great SEO strategy is going to do far more for your website than PPC. Yes, PPC can give you instant traffic, but it's awfully expensive. Plus, studies show that only about 16% of people actually click on PPC ads. The majority of searchers ignore them in favor of the organic listings (after all, anyone can pay for an ad to be on page 1. It takes something else to be at the top of the organic results

There are tons of scams out there. If I were you, I would focus on learning everything you can about SEO and how to rank better. With the right strategy, you can dramatically boost your ranking and take advantage of free, organic traffic - instead of paid ads.

One way to start - create a signature for your posts here with a link to your site. That way, you'll get a link every time you post on this valuable forum
