Hi, does anyone know how accurate the google adwords external keyword tool is when it displays average cpc? Trying to create some adsense sites here and was wondering I mean it would be great if this worked....looking at keywords that claim to get 4 bucks a click. Is this accurate or is spyfu the best way to decide? Thanks

I think it is reasonably solid but keep in mind there are many variables: 1. Location of ad viewer 2. changes in advertiser budgets 3. the type of traffic google sends to your site in the first place etc. |

Thanks. But how could it be accurate? Either spyfu is wrong or the gogle external keyword tool. Because Spyfu says max bid is $2 but there are a few keywords associated with the root keyword that get $4 according to the Google tool.

Also does the google external keywords tool avg CPC mean you get that full amount? Like if it says 63 cents a click do I get 63 cents a click usually? One keyword claims to have an avg cpc of $1.44 but when I type the keyword phrase into Google there's not one adwords advertisement that shows up. That's a bad sign right? |

Actually I think the 63cents per click would be what you would have to pay. So you would only get a % of that as a publisher. | |

I see....so that's not how much I get paid? What is the best tool then to figure out an estimate of what keywords pay in adsense? Thanks

It's not accurate, especially cross country. Example, i run a big adwords campaign for a online camera store, Google estimates $1 a click for a keyword when in reality we pay around 15c - 20c. This isn't a US based campaign though. Same with campaigns I have ran in the US. I asked our Google Accounts manager about this and he said that number is what you would expect to pay to be in positon 1 with NO QUALITY SCORE calculated in. Also remember most people who know anything about the content network usually have a different bidding strategy and that's usually bidding lower than the search network. The best way to guess estimated CPC is to type those keywords into Google directly or in the adwords ad preview tool and see how many ads appear. You only really need to bid higher when there are lots of ads otherwise you can appear on the first page for pretty cheap. |

Thanks guys. I guess the smart thing here to do is use it to locate niches you would not think of and then check it in spyfu. I just found a niche that pays $1.02-7.04 in spyfu thanks to this ![]() Now I think all I can do is use the google external keyword tool to check out the keywords for this niche and just try to use the highest estimated CPC keywords in this niche that are related Any other tools I should use for this? Thanks

Simply there are other things that has to be considered before thinking of how accurate it is.

Well I chose a niche and have already written 4 quality pages for my mini site Guess action is what matters most. I will write a few more pages and then start writing articles and promoting this baby! Spyfu says the main root keyword pays from $1-7 so im sure it will bring in decent click amounts.

How did it go in the end? I also want to be able to accurately convert estimated CPC into an amount that i will receive from Google ads on my sites. I found one with 368,000 local searches (uk) and the CPC was around £1.50. I reckon i can get to #1 over a short period, but what amount might i actually get? I'd be interested to hear more on your own experiences. Thanks. |

It gives you some know how and rough estimated but its not 100% accurate as there are many factors.
