Is yahoo and google count forum signature as a backlink??

Yes it does, watch for "no-follow" links. But market samurai even has a promotion feature with forum posts. Someone please check me on this, but I believe signatures count as backlinks, as long as you post.

i have almost 375 post in DP but my blog backlink is below 100.. why???

From what I understand, if you change your signature, all your posts (new and old) change and therefore all your old links disappear.
Is this the case?

Perhaps the SE bot hasn't counted them all, some maybe classed as insignificant, maybe previous backlinks have ceased; it can be for any reason. You just need to make sure that you keep generating backlinks

Correct, but there are new links with the changed signatures targeting the keywords that you have put in.

Only in some forums - like the generic phpbb forums.

You should always save the URL to the post or page that has your backlink (comment, post, thread, yahoo answers) and ping all of those pages. Copy and paste all the URLs to a .txt file and do 'em all later. I use a little tool to ping and "meta index" these pages - 150 pings and 1000 meta indexes for each url. A GoogleBot had better catch one and index the page so I get my damn backlink asap!! LOL!

you could always cheat, too, and add extra's that no one usually sees right in front of them!

Search engines count forum backlinks but you are true. I had the same experience with DP. I think the pages of this forum will be deleted from Google database after some months and so the backlinks will be deleted too.

yes, forum links count but one thing to be aware of is that variety of sources is important, too. So, if you have 300 forum posts in one forum that may not be as useful as 100 posts in 3 different forums.

Forum posts also rank in search engine organic results. You will also get traffic from popular posts. Using forums has many advantages.

Also, for a forum post to rank pretty high, it usually has good info.

That is not one and only way to get backlinks, you have to play around with other methods of getting backlinks such as contextual link building (article submissions and blogging), SB, blog comments, directory submissions, Link wheels and etc..... That will give you improvement in your SERP

DigitalPoint forum signature are now NoFollow. After the last PR update they made signature NoFollow. Being the signature NoFollow the number of backlinks from DP will decrease.

I heard that no follow backlinks are lower valued as compared to do follow backlinks, meaning a backlink is still a backlink whether do or no follow. And advised by some, to have both to make your site/blog look more natural. Any comments on this?

From my experience It works! But I don't believe it's too worthy than blog comments. The main fact is getting forum links are easier than a dofollow blog comment getting live.

when you say you dont see the backlinks from the forums? do you mean they dont show up in your backlink checking tool? or that they are not indexed in google?

its more important that they are indexed in google than showing up in your checking tool. just search with the html link in "quotes" in google if it shows up then its indexed and giving you value!
