I had a $12 adsense day!

Hey guys,

I just wanted to share with you what I did to make $12 with adsense in 1 day.

I have 1 website that I built around 1 particular keyword with 2600 searches a month.

I managed to rank the site #2. So I was getting about 800 visitors a month.
And I was promoting a CPA offer on my site, but unfortunately
I didn't get any conversions. And I kinda left the site for a whole year!

Then 1 year later I got reminded that the domain is going to expire
I felt like the site had potential because it was getting a little bit of traffic
so I renewed it and put adsense on it.

The site started making $2 a day right off the bat, and highest day was $5. Which was cool considering I almost let the site die...

So I decided to improve upon it, I added 8 more articles targeting related
low competition keywords, I changed the logo.

I scheduled the articles to post 1 every 2-3 days.

And 2 things happened as a result:
My bounce back rate went down from 86% to 70% which is still not very good
but it's better than before..

I got ranked at #1 without doing any other promotion, just by adding content regularly. I got a little increase in traffic.

but my average daily income DOUBLED from $2 to $4 a day!
And I had my highest day of $12 which was exciting at least to me..

Oh I also added a banner to a different CPA offer but I haven't gotten any conversions there yet..


Now I have to build more backlinks and rank for my other keywords and hopefully double my income soon again.

My goal is simple, to double my online income every 2 months by reinvesting everything I make back into my business.

And adsense is my new favourite way to make money because it's super easy.
You just have to get traffic to your site.

I make $120 a month with 1 website targeting 1 keyword with just 2600 searches a month!

Now I just have to repeat the process and scale. I realize it's a numbers game. I need to find 10 similar keywords and get ranked for them too.

And that's what I'm going to do. I have to continue building the traffic.

So I hope I gave you guys some encouragement with this post.
The goal was not to brag but to show you that it is possible to make money
with adsense even if you're just getting started

I know many people on this forum are making a lot more than I am..
but they all started at 0 at some point, so if they can do it me and YOU can do it too. It's all about getting traffic and converting it into $

I want to double my income every 2 months but that's not my main focus
My focus is getting ranked for as many keywords as I can at #1
1 keyword at a time..
because that will get me more traffic
and more traffic = more clicks and more money.

Don't focus on income goals but
focus on the tasks that increase your income instead.

Tristan Bull gave me a really great reminder recently about that with his new videos (which are awesome btw)

If you've already reached the top spot, your earnings probably won't increase too much unless you re-design the website to get more conversions.

$12 a day isn't bad for one site though - why don't you find 10 more keywords that get that many searches and start making $132 a day?

Replicate that 10 times, and you'll be earning over $100/day...

$100/day x 30 days/month = $3,000/month

$3,000/month x 12 months/year = $36,000/year

that's the plan! Yes, I have found a few other keywords already, some are related to my main one so that's why they'll stay on the same site.

Others are unrelated so that means I'll have to get a different domain for them.
Plus there's a lot power in having the exact keyword domain.
It's a lot easier to get ranked and get traffic.

And you are definitely 'getting it' - Adsense is a numbers game:

Earnings = traffic x conversions (CTR) x payout (EPC)

In order to increase earnings, you must boost one - or all - of those.

Focusing on traffic is critical, but don't leave out the other factors. Check related keyword phrases that you can begin to rank for in terms of payout, and make sure you are converting - getting the highest possible CTR.

As you can see if you check my sig, Adsense is definitely my "favourite way to make money" not because it's easy - though it can be - but because I can 'invest' in building a solid, long-term, sustainable business by continually researching new keyword phrases, and building out sites.

That is actually the correct way to build except, you need to keep every site on a different IP and they rank easier and they can back link each other. This is a fact that you will find VERY helpful over time. I am telling you to make sure you build it correctly so you never have an issue with Google...

yes I know it's all about increasing traffic, conversions and payout
and I haven't done any testing on the layout yet and where I place my adsense block.

I think I have to focus on ranking for more keywords first
and getting more traffic, then I will test and tweak.

Yes bfas, adsense is awesome because it's sustainable long-term and you can build upon it.
And once you build it it's passive income that comes day in and day out without you doing much work.
That's what I like about it too.

nice.... 4 days ago I started to build a new site for adsense.... First I used micro site method but I think if I get one big website, huge traffic, it's very valuable better than I use micro site.. As all sites are linked via his adsense account this isnt necessary. Google would know straight away the sites are linked even if they are on different IP's.

Yes my main domain is my exact keyword and it fluctuates between #1 and #2.
The keyword I choose had very little competition but not a lot of search volume either.

I suggest you do some social bookmarking, and post articles on web 2.0 sites too and all other sources of backlinks that you know, not just article directories.
I have just 1 article on ezine articles for my site.

@bestirix my site had only 3 articles One was very long though, the main page article. It was about 1000 words and it was mainly a pitch for the cpa offer which no one took.

But since the site started making money I added 8 more articles and will add more
so that google doesn't think my site is a 'thin' affiliate site with no content.
I want if they review it manually to actually like what they see.
That's why I try to make my sites optimized not only for the search engines but for actual people too.

@dawnbreaker just stick with it, add more content, build more backlinks with your keyword as "anchor text", learn more about SEO and you'll get there..

Gotta love those domain renewal notices!
They make you really look at a site and decide whether you're going to step up to the plate or just let it go. It helps you take a step back and analyze the site, which one is usually too busy to do.

Great news, well done! $12 a day with Adsense is good IMO. A simple target would be to replicate what you did for 10 more sites and move that to $120 a day, $3600 per month, which is great.

I have done the same with couple of websites, and currently working on a similar website which I registered five years back.

Bottom line -- never give up!
Suggest, also study adsense optimization and case studies to ensure that your ads are optimized properly.

One quick tip, just ensure that color scheme of adsense links appear in the same color as the universal font color of your website.

I recommend that you toss up another one of these sites, and document the steps. If you achieve the same level of success with the next site hire a VA. Then let your outsource worker build 100 of these for you. Or 1,000...

It wouldn't be realistic to expect you to build out all these sites yourself. However if you have figured out a way to make consistent cash on a small level, you MUST scale it out so that you can bring in more...

Here's a tip. Put a light box optin or slide up to collect leads. Then if you are using a blog, create a blog blast that automatically sends to your mailing list/leads every time new content is posted. This will almost always increase you traffic thus increasing your click thrus. I did this with a site I sold and had consistant $20 days and some $50 and that was not emailing consistantly. Whatever you can do organically or non organically to get traffic will work well. The only issue with organic traffic ONLY is that if your site drops... you have no control. If your site drops and you have a mailing list... you control the traffic.

1) Scale up x 10
2) Get a few other websites related to this niche - Total niche domination
3) Build a list and later send CPA offers through email as you said you had little success with banners on the site.

Even if you consider your site a failure for whatever reason, adsense or other advertising methods should always be an earning option, especially if you have some traffic.
