How to get fast Quality Links w/o getting ripped off

I need some Quality Links for a couple of good websites that have been around a while. I know there's a million services out there but most seem like a rip-off. Has anyone had any positive results with any services?

There are some backlink services advertising on here with mixed reviews, I haven't used any of them personally.

The truth is though, Google eventually makes the backlinks from many, if not most of these services worthless (or seriously devalued)

So what often happens is you might climb the rankings to Page 1 or 2, then your site suddenly drops onto Page 154 or something along those lines.

Then you assume your site has got a penalty, which isn't true.

Google can't give sites a penalty based on backlinks pointing to them, otherwise people could easily harm their competitors sites.

What has actually happened, is the backlinks you purchased have become worthless.

So your site ends up where it would have been, without the purchased backlinks.

It is a vicious cycle...

You buy Backlinks A > Your site rises > Backlinks A become worthless > Your site plummets > You buy Backlinks B > Your site rises > Backlinks B become worthless > Your site plummets > You buy backlinks C > Your site rises > Backlinks C become worthless > Your site plummets and so on....

Don't you still get the traffic that's generated from those links? That should be worth something?
