a basic tenant of seo is sprinkling your keywords on your page. my plugin i use at home will show me the density of my keywords, but what is the range of optimal density? 4%? 12%? |

Ooooh good question. I am at around 3% for my primary keyword and not doing so well. I'm wanting to bump it up to around 6%

Just write naturally using your keyword here or there. You can rank with a 0% if you really wanted to. Less is better than more.

I would suggest 3 to 4 1/2 % keyword density. sprinkle it throughout the body of your text naturally. I have a couple site ranking in the top 3 for my terms. Maybe 500-600 words total of 4 to 4 1/2 % keyword density. I put my "keyword" in all of my link title tags and img alt tags. CHEERS! Anymore than 6% and it's going to look unnatural... and probably be a crappy read! |

FACT: Keyword density is not a part of Google's algo. Just write stuff on topic with your keyterm mentioned in <title> main <h1> and a couple of times in the relevant content. |

| So what you're saying is I could spam my keyword over and over and over again? 50%, no 90% density - and Google doesn't look at this...? So what does the Googlebot look at? I would beg to differ that keyword density plays ZERO part in Google's algorithm. |
