It dosent matter what theme you use. Just make sure that you have an adsense block right under the title of the post and one at the bottom. That is all you need.

Having spent the better part of 4 am till 8 am futzing with a overly complicated theme - i can tell you - i think it DOES matter!!! 1. If you want an in content text block of 300 x 250 - and the article wont wrap around in WP ... now what? 2. what if there are literally 300 configuration choices for the theme - like the one I was muscling thru this morning ? ayyyye karumba! 3. its nice to have the ad blocks locations and sidebar widgets all geared to go too !! but 45 options? |

A lot of people seem to swear by BlueSense. I've never used it myself, but I can see why it'd attract a good CTR (the thing's plastered with ads to the max ).That said, it looks pretty hideous, and I imagine the "bounce-rate" (in the sense of people actually clicking "back"), might be higher than for a lot of themes. For my AdSense sites, I custom-coded my own themes, taking inspiration from XFactor's (John) "trademark theme" (or at least, the one he wrote about and used at the time of this thread being active). All my sites have a small navigation on the right (the eye naturally goes to the left of a page, and I want ads there - not my menu), and a single 336x280 ad-block at the top-left, below my page heading. I always get a good CTR (ad relevancy permitting), well into double figures. |

I think the most important thing is how to drive traffics to blog/site. Simple theme with bunch of traffic will be more useful for us.

No such thing. The best theme / layout is one that doesn't require the user to scroll down. Eye tracking studies show that visitors concentrate mostly on the upper left hand corner of the article, even if the article is centered. Have the block right there. Obvious as it may sound, have blue links in the adsense block.

If you're looking for a good free theme, Heatmap for AdSense is a really good one. It makes placing Adsense blocks anywhere you want on the site really easy, and it looks terrific if you place your ads properly. It also allows you to place banner ads from other affiliate programs, like Commission Junction or Amazon anywhere on the site, and really simplifies the process of placement by using widgets. I love it.

I'd do some testing of a few that you like to see which one gives you the best results. I haven't done any testing in a while but settled on Amazing Grace & Blue Grace as well as Zeke for most of my blogs. I'm getting ready to mix it up a bit again but if I see any plummeting conversion rates I'll be going back |

I have used the "Blue Sense" theme on 20+ sites and it seems to convert quite well in terms of ctr. Quote:
Apply the following code to the top of your article(s) content in sourse mode.. Code: <div style="float: left; width: 310px; height: 260px; margin: 5px;"> #### ADSENSE CODE HERE #### </div> | |

Kind of an old thread but I think the CTR theme is pretty solid, a lot of people are enthousiastic about the rotating system but personally I prefer the adblock on the top of the page on the left side with the txt wrapped around it.
