Default Does Google give you any boost for people clicking on your listing?

I was wondering if G gives pages any boost in the SERP rankings if a lot of people click on your article? I have heard this, but not sure if it is true. So I was wondering if anyone has experienced this.

The reason I ask is that I was having trouble getting my stuff ranked recently. Then I had one article that did very well and got about a thousand page views in one day. Then a day or two later I had another article hit it big and was getting two to three thousand page views in a day. My articles were landing on the big G in the first through the fourth position. Today I had one article that I posted go nuts and have got more than 3,500 page views today. It is in the number one spot for multiple high competition G SERP results. Some in the low millions, all the way up to 75 million.

Seems like a week ago I couldn't buy a number one spot in G, now I have articles in multiple number one spots. The only thing I can think is that G has given me some trust factor because so many people clicked on my article.

Am I being naive or newbie prone? Or is there something to this?

If you're asking whether Google cares that what they serve up on their most valuable virtual real estate gets clicks the answer is a big yes.

If a webpage is up there on the first page and doesn't pull its' weight in clicks it get replaced.

More clicks = more juice.

I would bet that it is one part of the overall algorithm. Its hard to say for sure unless you work at Google. I have heard it somewhere to.

More so than the actual click: How long do they stay on your page after clicking your link?

If they are going to the next page in Google's search results within 15 seconds of having clicked your link, that plus is turned into a huge minus sign...

^ I am not sure about it either, because I haven't tested it.

We must acknowledge that Matt Cutts has a job and that is to stir up the silt in the water, so that we cannot clearly see or understand Google's algorithms in a reliable manner.

He suggests that what I said is true.

But he could just be saying that...

Interesting thoughts everyone, thanks. I think there must be some benefit to people clicking on your SERP listing, and I wouldn't be surprised if they bounce, you are not going to get that bump.

I know for a fact, I couldn't get a listing on G first page to save my life. Then I got a few down near the bottom. I had one that was real popular a few days ago. And then the last couple of days I published an article and found it at the top of the page or close to it in multiple variations of the term I was aiming for. I know yesterday I published that article and it took off like gang busters. No links, but within 30 minutes of publishing it, the traffic started to pour in and I got over 3,700 views and made over $135 from that one article, yesterday. Best day I have every had. Hope I can duplicate it today.

This system is already implemented in the adwords...however there is a big chance that the organic listings work the same way as google care about their users and their click behavior to deliever the most relevant results..
