Arrow My Goal: To have over 100 Affiliate Reviews Sites: Doable?

Is Having over 100 Physical Product Sites doable? or just plan stupid?

I'm taking into account backlinking, site maintenance, analitics, updating site content, selling old sites and building new ones to maintain 100 active sites at one time.

Do any of you guys have more than 50 sites?

You'll never be able to give them the attention they need. I only have about 22 sites, and 80% of them are neglected most of the time.

Did you read Paula's thread about Amazon? I think she says you can make full time income form one site, if you choose well and create well research reviews. And I agree.

Also if you are a beginner, having so many sites will overwhelm you completely. Take one site to profit first, then decide if you want to expand on that site or start a new site.

I have a similar goal, but I also realize it will be hard work. I suspect to make it work, you will need to outsource a lot of your day to day stuff like article writing, back linking etc. This will come as you make more money. For now, I'll build the first 10 sites myself and see how that goes. I guess as you/we get better, we can target more competitive keywords. So then you are getting 10,000 hits to 1 site a month rather than 3,000. That means to make the income you desire, you may not actually need 100 sites. Good luck

IMO you would be better off creating one mega-site that holds 100 reviews in different categories. That would be way easier to manage from a writing standpoint and ten times more efficient when it came to SEO.

At that point you are just ranking one site with 100 different keywords, which will be far easier to do once you get some PR and Trust Rank love from Google on the homepage.

I agree with some of this. The point you want to get to with 100 website is more of a management type role, rather than a site building role.

To effectively build and manage all these sites you will need to do a lot of outsourcing. I recommend squeezing a decent amount of profit out of your current sites before taking on a challenge like this.

You will need to work on training up odesk (or similar) workers to really get any profit from this, once you get a system going it would be a snowball effect to get to 100 sites.

On the other hand If you physically build each site and do all the SEO and marketing yourself you will naturally neglect the parts of the process that are repeditive and boring.

Getting to 100 sites is definitely doable, but you will have to think out your strategy to get there very carefully. Build up your profits first so that you know your next sites are going to be profitable. (The last thing you want to do is spend hours building new sites but realizing you haven't been doing them correctly).

That is an interesting point, it all depends on your overall plan. If you are comfortable working in just one particular niche, then go for it. It will be much less of a headache than building 100 sites!

Also, I would follow this plan until you get some decent profit from one or two sites before scaling up.

I honestly don't think it would be that hard . I have a number of adsense sites now and they basically just chug along doing their own thing now without much maintenance at all, granted there is only around 30 of them but I might login once a month to update wordpress or plugins and add some new content that will get post dated

I imagine the same will be true for your affiliate sites in fact I plan to create 50 affiliate sites as well so I'm heading in the same direction as you and I'm not worrying about it being hard at all.

Just do it and worry after ;-)

Don't listen to anyone who tells you that it would be impossible. The reality is, it depends how you want to run them. If you want to set them and forget them, creating 100 sites won't be hard at all. Yes, it will take time, and SEO for 100 sites will be overwhelming, and probably very pricey. But it depends on your niches. If you're targeting micro micro niches, it shouldn't be too hard to rank well for your sites. If you're going after "mp3 player reviews"-type difficulty x100 sites, you're going to run into problems.

Use common sense. I'm sure you already know the right answer to this question.

There really is no reason to launch all of these at once if you can not afford it. Try maybe 5-10 at a time and keep your most profitable campaigns and then flip the less profitable ones if you can't easily make them more profitable.

Once you've got 10+ profitable product sites you can easily afford to start outsourcing more and more of the work and build your way up to 100.

I have 100+ physical product sites and even picked up brick-and-mortar locations for some sites that were VERY profitable. In the end, it all comes down to keyword research.

I agree with the statement that having 100 sites is possible. But you definitely need to outsource all of the work. Your role basically will focus on researching markets and keywords.

I am in the middle of creating my 100 sites too. I know that I am terrible at article writing and building backlinks, so those jobs will get outsourced. To prepare for that, I have setup a calculation about how much money is available to me each month, and work backwards to know how many sites I can produce each month. Maybe you can use the same approach as well.
