Site was on first page yesterday now it's at the bottom of page 2

Hi there Warriors,

Set up a review site for a gym I go to to generate leads. I used Thesis and ran into a couple problems.

At first I showed up on the 1st page of results towards the bottom and it was my home page that was there.

Yesterday I noticed that I was on page 2 but the "about me" page of the site and the blog page were ranking higher. (I use a static home page w/ wordpress)

My question is how do I make sure that the home page is the one people see first, and how I get back on the 1st page of results on a high position?

I understand building links and not going at it too fast.

Insights are appreciated.

Don't freak out if the rankings go haywire for the first few weeks.. Google crawlers are trying to understand how much value is your site actually providing.

Add some good content, do some on page optimization and then ping your site. Come back to it in a week. You should see your ranking stabilize.

Thanks, I've been adding content daily, just small posts. Seems like w/ PPC you get a "bump" where google throws you up there to see how you perform and if youre CTR sucks it takes a lot of work to get back to where u were.
