Default Dealing with Yelp reviews

Hi Guys

I have a possible new client that has a little bad press via Yelp. I see that this part of the local reviews that show up in Google local (or Places). Is there a way to combat this .. what I mean is can those Yelp reviews be prevented from showing up on their reviews area for the local search results?

Any and ALL suggestions and experience welcome!

Thanks!
Nushi

I know this post died long Ago and I see that there were no responses. I'm wondering if in the past 3 years anyone has gained any knowledge on the subject. I'd like to be able to flag a bogus review for a local client of mine on yelp but I haven't found a way. Any help on the topic would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Don't have any experience with Yelp, sorry! But I will try to answer your other question about local review sites.

Are you looking to build local review sites where you will list local businesses? If you are thinking of creating a new yelp that may be little daunting but one thing you could do is to pull the business listing from Yellow Book and create a sort of directory site which will either list local businesses by category in a single site. The other approach could be to narrow down the type of businesses you want to list say local daycare centers, create regular listing and then email all of them to pay for a premium listing say $50/$100 per month or something like that.

There are quite a few softwares on the market that do the directory sites but I would suggest go for a wordpress based solution as they are easy to work with

Have you looked at MyReviewPlugin? I use it to create product review sites and haven't used the yellow pages extract function but worth a look I think. I bought it at full price but it's being offered at 25% discount in the warrior classified section if you are interested.

Good luck in your efforts.

Thanks For the info. I'd thought of that too. just going the rought of creating my own review sites, but i think that there are some decent followings for a few of the major ones that make it prohibitive to go that rout just for the sake of one local business, but as for a separate revenue generator I think thats a great Idea.

Thanks

Sure, you are welcome!

I think the local business review site model is still viable. Don't try to be next yelp or yellow pages. Be a niche site. localbizinNY or something like that. after populating the site, you could even charge for having their dedicated page which will be nothing but a detailed view of a wordpress post. So you could offer them two options, premium listing (bolded, color border whatever) and separate page where they could add few pictures of their facility etc. I know about people who are making decent money running few of these.

Sorry mate, don't know anything specific about Yelp but if your client does have some good reviews you can try and do SEO for those specific reviews. Of course, I'm assuming there is a URL for each review but I could be wrong.

They All Told Me Making Money Online Was Just A Scam For The Gullible... Even Though I Was Already Pulling In $1k/Day. Now You Say My Resellers Can Not Make $1k/day But...
