Default 301 Redirects and Link Juice! A question to be answered!

and so it goes...

I have two websites in my arsenal from a while ago.

web1.com and web2.com

Initially web1.com was my main-site for about 3-5 months before I took down due to...my feeling like it and I 301 redirected web1.com to web2.com

web2.com is used for personal whatnots with very little to none backlinking; and crap onsite SEO.

However, I recently noticed that web2.com has a PR of 1
and here comes the kicker

so does web1.com

now I KNOW that web1.com had a PR of 0 when I took it down and 301 redirected to web2.com

So the question is
Did the sites share or take juice from each other?

Or is it simply domain age? (web2.com is an older domain a fortnight over 1 year old; web1.com is 8 months old)

MajesticSEO puts web2.com at 1,880 backlinks and web1.com at 80 backlinks
Most other put web2.com at 10-20 backlinks and web1.com at 0-1 backlinks

Yes, I know PR1 is crap, but still...

Hi amo992,

If you have placed a 301 permanent redirect of all traffic from web1 to web2 then web1 no longer has any PR, it has all been transfered to web2. Any tool that you are using is simply reporting the PR from the default page of web2 for both entries.

Oh...I understand what you are saying.

Even though I am making web1 into it's own website again, G thinks it's still web2, thus the PR1.
