This Stuff Actually Works!

For quite awhile I've considered myself lucky to be earning an average of $20 a day from adsense. I had a job, but the added $600 a month sure helped out. Then, by June my income suddenly jumped to $850 that month. Since then, everything seemed to have just clicked (no pun intended) and last month my income was $1,200. Already, my next check will be about $1,500. For some of you, this may be peanuts, but the sudden growth is astounding to me! It seems like everything I've learned here is beginning to pay off!

Now I believe if I had to start fresh, I could get to where I am now within a month or two (instead of a couple years). Knowledge, and the right work ethic is your greatest asset!

Here's an example of what I'm talking about.

A couple weeks ago, I brought up a question. I found a great keyword, but the .com/net/org were all taken. I had to choose to either add a prefix, suffix, or hyphens. From your input, I decided to add a suffix to the end of my 2 word keyword. The google keyword tool told me there were 160,000 searches a month (global)! Traffic travis showed me the competition and told me it would be "relatively easy" to compete.

I bought the domain (.com) and put together a 5 page site using Dreamweaver. I then built an "open" link wheel using 10 properties. This was Tuesday. Wednesday morning (less than 12 hours!) I checked, and the site was indexed. I was ecstatic! Thursday was Thanksgiving so I didn't do much (but I had a $100 day on Thanksgiving!). This morning, on a whim, I checked my keywords, not really expecting to find much. I was SHOCKED to find I am #4 on PAGE ONE for my chosen keyword!

For those who struggle to make pennies a day, understand it WILL happen for you, and suddenly, one day, everything will just start coming together.

The information you'll find here is solid. Just listen, learn and DO. I know there are many methods out there, but for me, I follow what Lisa has said and concentrate all my efforts (for now) on a couple web sites rather than 100 sites each making $1. It made sense to me, that if you have a small site making money, why not put up another page on that site with a SIMILAR keyword and go after THAT traffic. It pays, at least for me, to stay focused.

Some of you have no idea how much you've helped others to succeed. I just wanted to let those who are still struggling, and ready to give up, that this stuff really does work!

this is awesome to hear. I am happy for your success Carl. I am planning to work hardcore with adsense and i just got accepted today. i will be building my website this month and let it go out there.

If possible and if you have time: you said that if you had the knowledge you have now, you could achieve these results in a month. If you want to help out a newbie fellow warrior, can you please share what knowledge/strategy/skills should i work on so that i can achieve better results. I dont want to make thousands ( even though that would be pleasant ) but i am aiming to get to around 10$ a day.

Waiting for the follow up post about being 'sandboxed', 'penalized' or the like when the "Query Deserves Freshness" bonus expires...

But, seriously, do expect some initial bouncing around and don't panic or become discouraged by it. Just keep promoting your site.

Great. This is what SEO people should have. Good planning and strategy. But I think your conversions will not last that long. It seems very preliminary. Just keep on promoting your site. Sooner or later, you'll have the conversion, you've been looking for.

Until now, I have 2 sites making 90% of my income. They are all informational sites and not product related. I believe all (about 6 total) could be productive if I worked them (I've lost interest in them for now). I'm really enthusiastic about this latest website. I think it could make a lot of money.

I try to pay attention to what people are interested in. Usually those topics pay well. Check the top paying keywords It's the free market. Advertisers pay because they know there's an interest. Use the Google keyword tool to see how much competition you'll have, the searches per month and what advertisers are paying for the keyword. If you don't have Traffic Travis, it's a great tool that'll help you understand what it'll take to get above the fold on page one. Surprisingly, it doesn't have to be as hard as I used to believe

No. I've only hit the $100 days 3 times so far. Right now I seem to average about $60 a day--sometimes less. The good news is, the month to month average has ALWAYS gone up. I pay attention to what works for me and keep doing that, while eliminating what doesn't work


The link wheel does worry me. It's the first time I actually planned and structured my links rather than just "spamming" the blogs. I'm hoping that I'll be OK since I didn't actually close the wheel (linking the first property with the last). I do believe that is how I got indexed so fast and what shot me immediately to #4. I do understand it'll likely disappear completely for awhile. I probably won't even check its position again for awhile but I will keep building random links to my various pages.

For now I plan to focus all my time on these 3 sites. Maybe more later, but for now I'm REALLY happy with the results I'm getting
