Hello, The last 3 days my CPC and eCPM are very low compared to the period before. On the same pages ( i looked via Google Analytics ) my CPC was around 1$, now its like 0.05 -0.10$. I see same results on my other sites ( 5 sites in total ). All traffic comes from Google. Does this mean my Adsense account is what is called smartpriced? What can i do now? |

Watch it for a few days and if it doesn't improve then I'd say your account has been smart priced. At that point you need to determine what site or sites caused this to happen and remove the Adsense code from them. What kind of sites are they? |

| I have 1 blog in the forex niche ( CTR very bad, around 1-2% ), a few sites in the travel niche ( CTR around 5-8% ) and a few technology blogs ( CTR around 3% ). Do you think the blog with the bad CTR caused this? If i remove adsense from it, do you think the smart pricing will be canceled?

Hi miranon, It's usually the source of your traffic that causes your account to be smart priced. If you traffic is coming from sources that don't purchase very often after clicking on ads then you are subject to smart pricing. Take a look at the countries that you are getting traffic from, as well as the keywords that are used to locate your web pages. You'll usually find the trouble in those areas. |

A good way to tell if you are smart priced is to visit a competitors adsense monetized site that targets the same keywords. Next, use the adwords tool to place bids on their site specifically. If you are getting charged more for your keyword then what you are making per click on your site, you are probably smart priced. (taking into account that you actually only get 68% of the total bid cost). |

Anyone who has done this AdSense thing longer than a year can show you this from previous years records. Produce value for visitors, Google will count your cash for you, free. Checking stats is time wasted when we could be producing. | |

It is quite possible, especially if your traffic is low quality (does not convert for advertisers). Another possibility is that your niche is small and you had just one or two guys posting all of the high paying ads and they bowed out, or perhaps they improved their QS which lowered their bid. |

I haven't had much luck with tech blogs. CTR is low and CPC varies widely. Use the competitive ad filter in your adsense account to weed out the crappy ads. It has helped a bit for my tech blogs. I rarely see those $.02-$.03 clicks anymore.
