sorry to hear about your adwords account. Unfortunately this has affected many marketers recently therefore we are all trying to figure out ways to over come this issue.

However why not see it as a positive and try out other types of marketing which are also very effective.

All the best

I'm not using Adwords, but I got affiliates who are. And their ads promoting my site keeps getting disapproved. My site is not related to making money, and the affiliate is promoting the version with no pop-ups or exit splash.

Here's the thread:
I need to know why my ad keeps getting disapproved. All it keeps saying is "site policy". Too vague. - AdWords Help

Hope Google reconsiders.

Hardly something that warranted a 2 week thinking process.

I ended up just canceling the AdWords account and now use Facebook Ads and StumbleUpon for PPC.

I have been getting better conversions at a much lower cost.

For anyone not thrilled with AdWords I highly recommend trying out Facebook Ads.
hows yr experience with stumble? I tried it but didn't really get the kind of results I was hoping for... what types of sites did u try it with?

and facebook ads seem more to me for branding rather than conversions although i did help a physical biz get customers... not much success yet with affiliate products on fb though

This is going to sound nutty.. but try this.. get a Firefox plugin or however you want to do it but VIEW YOUR SITE with the user agent set to Google Bot.

I was hit by this and it turned out to be what is called a Conditional Hack. Ended up being in my footer of the site where there was a function for year that in normal view was fine but viewing as a google bot was a long list of very nasty porn sites.

Once you remove the contaminated function or functions and the links stop posting you can file for a reinstatement. Took me weeks to figure out.

Worth a shot..

Welcome to the Adwords Ban Gang!

It'll be about this time last year when I got banned and although I miss them I kinda see it as blessing in disguise.

I now get all the traffic I was paying for with Adwords through SEO.

James

Good comparison!

Google's revenue from advertising in 2009 was almost 23 billion dollars, and in 2010 it is estimated to grow another 22% to 28 billion.

If they would only invest 0.1% of that into customer services...

The real problem is Google giving too much blind power to their snap reviewers. A snap reviewer can look at your site and go "Oh this looks scammy" without buying the product, evaluating its value or importance, researching the reputation of the seller, or doing a single frickin thing to make a real effort to find out if something is scammy or not!

These snap reviewers are a bunch of fat middle aged women who sit around worrying about stuff all day and have never set foot out into the real world of entrepreneurship themselves.

Yet when they ban a site, there is no one for these fat, middle aged women to answer to. These fatties can ban your site without even asking their fat, middle aged manager for permission.

Yeah I hate Google adwords...

We had recently talked about this online here, Google absolutely makes no sense and has the mentality of a preschool kid in terms of making decisions... where the f' does all the billions in profit go, seems not a cent is spent on any type of customer service. For example I believe they have bots that do random sweeps and whatever is included in that sweep is banned, b/c people have had their normal accounts banned even with high quality scores and landing pages that aren't promoting make money schemes or sketchy offers etc. Heck, you have brick and mortar companies that have had their accounts banned for no reason, a friends was and all he got was the same dumb canned response google always sends, I'm talking restaurants etc that get their account banned.

And the past couple months, Google has been on a ban hammer rampage.

The problem is there are other traffic options, but the conversions/quality are no where near google, you have bing etc, but I know people who have adapted their campaigns to the other places and it works but their generating a fraction of the conversions before from using AdWords.

I've had a similar problem. They sent about 3 warning emails to me in the space of 5 hours (all while I was asleep) and next thing I know my account is suspended for life...no questions asked! Absolutely ridiculous.
