Hey As the title say I wonder if I could have a site to target both dog and dogs. dog and dogs are just as example here, they are not my real keywords. But they explain the problem very well. The problem lie in that I have a wordpress site which have a page which targets a plural version of the keyword. And now I've checked that it is much more traffic to the single value keyword So I wonder if I have a website which targets dogs, would it be any good to create a new page which targets dog also? Or could it results in some ranking problems (because those keywords are so similar) for those keywords? example url: www.mydogs.com <- dogs www.mydos.com/dog/ <- dog any suggestions? |

Shouldn't be a problem and you can still rank for both single and plural with the same page although it won't necessarily be as effective as the exact keyword domain technique if that's what you're doing. Also you don't just have to call your pages "dog" or "dogs" you just need to have your keywords in the title phrase and usual places. There are also a lot of other factors that will influence how well you rank for your terms. |

Hi loginname, There are certain words that are treated as the same word by search engines like Google. This is especially true for many plural keywords. For example the keywords you used in your example are treated as identical in Google search results. |

| If you use Google Webmaster tools on your site, you will see where Google determines your Keywords and orders them by significance. Notice for pluralized words, by the keyword in parenthesis it will say something like: Quote:
No need for two sites really! Just make relevant content pertaining to the keywords you want to rank for and set your Anchor text for the backlinks that your create accordingly... With you hard work, Google will do the rest ![]() CHEERS! | |
