Hi all In a week or two I will be given the option to do a bit of SEO work on the e-store for a local shop here in Denmark No attention has been given to SEO so far, and they do not rank for much of anything. this store carries trinkets and nice gift items that are well known. such as the willowtree figures etc. all of the text on the individual figures is copies of the sales material they have recieved from their suppliers. I plan on taking on this project one product category at a time, eg. the willowtree figures. I'll do some keyword research for each category/product and rewrite the title/description metas to contain these keywords. then the text on the page itself will be rewritten and image alt's applied. What else should I consider doing on such a project? article marketing is out of the question being in Denmark and we don't have any article directories etc. I'd put up the current shop link (they'll launch a nice looking presta shop in a few weeks time) but being in Danish I doubt it will be of much use to you. |

You are already spot on with the keyword research. I don't know anything about willowtree figures but I googled it and there appears to be plenty of information available on the topic. If the store is in Danish then it sounds like it's pretty much limited to Danish speakers. Article directories are worldwide, it shouldn't matter what part of the world you live in, unless you are saying you'd have to write the articles in Danish. Blogging is a good way to gain rank for keywords and to drive traffic. You could also try using Ebay to sell some items and get a handle on what people are looking for and how they like the online buying experience. |

For backlinking purposes it would probably be ok, but then again it just seems silly to me, your idea with a blog on the other hand is great, don't know if they are interested in the idea though, they'll probably be more interested in only having the shop since this is not their main point of sales (that would be their physical store) Naturally if I can get them to rank well with their store, they might just find themselves selling more online then they do now | |
