| Lets just say i’m building out one of my names LegalAdvice.net I get a bit of juice from the SE’s for the keyword URL – but i have a choice with the logo: LegalAdvice.net or just plain Legal advice. Have you guys heard anything about this before or don’t you think it matters in the slightest. Thanks for any replies. |

The logo itself isn't the part that matters - because it's an image and SE's can't "read" images (yet). What you name the logo photo file (ie, legal-advice-logo.jpg vs. logo.jpg) and your ALT text is what will give you the SEO boost. |

A logo is refered to as a picture representing your company. Here you mean a header. So yeah just use h1 header with your main keyword in it. Don't use h1 headers twice on 1 page, use h2 or less. It could hurt your onsite SEO.

from what i understand, logo does not increase your search engine rankings, but unique content and backlinks does. so, do not worry too much on the logo or image and just concentrate on adding more unique content and quality backlinks. - azlan |

| It was already said: make sure the file name of the image goes with your content (ie. legal-advice.jpg) and that the img alt=" " text is SEO'd out! Other than that <h1><h2><h3> should be labeled accordingly. The image shouldn't be completely wack... Make it look atleast halfway decent and presentable. It's just my opinion, but if I were to visit a site that looked sloppy with poorly made images (header) it loses A LOT of points in my book... Now, on the other hand, if I visit a page with a nice looking, relevant, catchy header... I might stay a little longer.... CHEERS! |

Yes these are correct, name the file your legal advice.jpg or whatever file extension you are using.. make sure you use alt text as well, to describe to the search engines what the picture means.

logo doesnt effect your SEO campaign but you can take advantage of uploading a pic, you can put alt and title attribute in image section and as mentioned above you can use legal-advice.fileextention. Try to use .png image , coz .jpeg image increases loading time , and search engine likes minimum loading time.

Yap the big G can't read images. So you put an alt tag and name the image accordingly...

It doesn't make backlinks at all it only represents your company. I would rather focus on my SEO task to rank well in google.

As i know the only thing you can do for making an image i.e a logo search engine friendly is using ALT tags for this image and use the keyword you want to optimize your website for, as ALT tag. There are some other more important on page optimization factors than it. like title, ,meta tags, keyword density. Try to optimize them and also use ALT tag for your logo and don't think more about optimizing an image.

Having a logo that gives your site credibility will do far more than even the most highly optimized ALT tag. In this case, I'd say forget SEO and focus on making your site look legit.
