I know, I know.... I should have this down by now... Truth is I still don't feel very comfortable in doing this. I'm starting a new Amazon Product Review Site.... I need to figure out the best way to find a keyword to build around my product. This KW will go in the URL and Everything else. How I've been doing it... 1. I look for a product to sell in Amazon (example: gas grills) 2. I then try find a good Target Keyword to turn into a URL (example: Best Gas Grill.com or Gas Grill Reviews.net) ****the problem***** I"M NOT SURE I HAVE A GOOD KEYWORD... EVER!!!! I SPEND HOURS LOOKING FOR A GOOD KW (and I even have Market Samurai...which is supposed to make this process faster...so I Thought) >Obviously I would like to find a target KW that has: 1. 100 visitors a day and... 2. Competition is low or no good I feel this is the most important step in the whole IM game... Any Suggestions... and any good guides to doing this right? |

Once you find a group of keywords you're interested in, use the Firefox plug-in SEO for Firefox to determine the competition on the front page of Google. If you see a bunch of sites on the front page with low ranking, you're going to be able to make it onto the front page with no problems. If you see a lot of high-PR sites with a lot of backlinks, it's going to be tough to get onto the front page. I used to agonize over keyword research until I read a few posts on here. It's actually pretty easy once you get it. It just takes time to find the good ones. |

Like Argus, I don't understand your problem either. If you have a site about gas grills, obviously your base keyword is gas grill. You're just making this more complicated than it needs to be. Other words people might use: propane grill, gas cooker. I came up with those just thinking about it, without any tool. |

Being unsure about exactly how to undertake keyword research is a common issue! We have developed a free 'keyword competition' tool to help with determinig exactly how difficult it is to rank for any specified keyword. Enjoy |
