Default Adwords newby question

Im a webdesigner expanding to internet-marketing and i designed some ads on adwords.
The question i have is: do i need to add a tracking code in the html before i can launch the campagn? Or can i just enter a url in the campagn settings and go from there?

thanks in advance

I use Prosper to track and enter my LP url into it and it generates a unique tracking url with my LP integrated into it.

No, you don't need tracking code whatsoever. You seem to be implying that your campaign won't run without it. However, in order to fully optimize a campaign, tracking is essential. By tracking, I mean tracking conversions to the keyword and ad levels. Adwords has that and you should use it. It will simplify things greatly.
