Need help buying a domain name

I have found a keyword which has around 4400 exact searches in us and around 5400 searches globally. Its a three word keyword now the domains available are

word1word2word3.us
word1-word2-word3.org
word1-word2-word3.net

Now if I buy the .us version will I get a rank boost in united states? I am not worried about traffic outside u.s as there are 4400 searches in united states itself and 5400 searches globally which means around 1000 searches from all the countries excluding united states. Or should I go .net or .org versions those version are with hyphens.

Does google gives preference to .us extension over .net or .org extensions in united states??

And one more question I am an indian citizen can I register a .us domain?

Its better that you register .us domain when you want to target it for USA. But you can target other extensions too in Google webmaster tools. And about second question i think you should be US citizen to register .us domains.

Definitely go with hyphens, because it is more SEOish.

As you told us that for your keyword US has the highest searches and you also want to target only US then it is better to buy a domain with the .US extension. This can boost your website to rank into the US and you'll get the rank for all keywords.
