Google mainly pay their publishers Per Click. Some advertisers do prefer the CPM model though - not many though. AdSense works best on content based sites, but I hear their domain service is pretty good also. |

Pay per impression payouts with google are insanely low. Literally 2-3cents per 1000 impressions. This happens with image ads, but it can also happen when advertisers are targeting your site specifically using placement targeting for their ads. |

The CPM advertisers must compete in the same auction as the CPC advertisers - Google actually converts the bids to a CPM based score before awarding the 'winner'. If you are only getting $0.02/1000 impressions then the CPC should be low too. The CPM based ads are paying about $30/1000 across my sites while the CPC are paying $50. |

Shalom, Google uses both methods. They pay people "per impression" OR "pay per click". It is decided by the people placing the ads on your site - you have no control on it. They both pay well if your site is good. With the "pay per impression" advertisers I personally get paid about $30 for every 1000 visitors. The majority of ads are "pay per click" though. |
