Wow, that's a bit hard to decipher but I think the key part is "no backlinks."

For your keyword, content is not king. Add a few posts to the dot com, monetize it, start building backlinks.

How long have the sites been up and how competitive are the keyword phrases you're optimizing for?

If a keyword phrase is low competition in the short term you can see some freaky results.

Long term good SEO...especially focusing on high quality targeted content and high quality backlinks...tends to rise to the top

Kindest regards,
Andrew Cavanagh

If so shouldn't the .com appear rather then the .org ? as it has about , privacy policy...etc pages plus the original content posts.

About 995,000 results the .com site was up first maybe a week I'm not optimizing things came up suddenly i ordered wp set up from a provider here in WF was 10 bux well he did not respond for a week so I hired a other guy for the same job they both responded so as i paid both already i let them do each one site the .org site is completely empty but the name of the site on the default theme twentyten .
the .com was up first mayebe a week indexed first and have content and seo'ed on thesis theme along with all in one seo ..etc
the other site as i mentioned has nothing but basic plugins which are not even activated.

If you can get a blank site to rank on the first page for that keyword then it means your keyword selection is going after uncompetitive (read unprofitable or no traffic) phrases.

Let's assume you are right in this case why would the empty site rank and the optimized one doesn't . they are same keyword that is uncompetitive plus the .com are older , have more pages, more articles and seo'd in term of in page seo . and indexed first if i did not mention that .

That is odd. But yes backlinks and content are keys. And do remember that google bots are a bit random e.g. which site did it crawl first, what link did it use to get to that site?

It seems to me that the content is hurting you. Perhaps it is optimized for the wrong keywords or something else has made Google believe that the page is not relevant for the desired keyword. The empty site has nothing to detract from the keyword so it is ranking higher.

It is widely believed that there are around 200 factors contributing to SEO ranking. Matt Cutts has openly stated that .net and .orgs have no difference in ranking.

So

(i) are they different age

(ii) someone might have backlinked to your site (happens occasionally when people want to mask gray hat techniques ... ie throw in a semi-related link to look natural)

(iii) relevancy - this is my guess all things being equal. What are the keywords your posts are targeting? If for example your site is bluewidget.com and you have articles on red widgets (ie related but not 100% relevant), then your content might be more about red widgets at this stage. The blank site just rates for one word - the keyword in the URL.

(iv) load speed - twenty ten is crisp and clean and loads in a heart beat. How much extra code does thesis have (if relevancy does not explain it, this will as load speed is huge)?

(v) spider issues - any messages coming up in webmaster tools? Duplicate content (the real duplicate content that google cares about and I am not referring to content published to other sites) or spider traps?

The reason is...

The site with all the content has diluted your on-page keywords.

Anyone that has ever setup a Wordpress blog, & let the Index page sit for a week will know that the Index page will rank most times without any content at all.

That some times happen with wrong keywords,i.e low competition keywords..It takes time,to get again indexed in Google,Because the website will be appearing only when Google is cached and crawled, the page was not found means, the Google was not yet crawled the website after some days it has been crawled so it will appear..
