Micro Niche Finder Headache ( Help Please)

I am currently a very green adsense publisher, I have recently ( 3 months Ago) purchased Micro Niche Finder, but I am finding it difficult to understand how the SOC really works.

For example I would look up a certain keyword, the SOC would tell me that its green and in the 20s, but when I look up that particular keyword in google.

The SERP shows me that the first result is a PR5 authority website. The next 4 are a mix of of PR5-3.

If I have read my materials right, I would assume that there is no way a starting website will be able to compete with such high ranking authority sites. Yet the SOC indicates that it would be "easy".

Am I missing something here?
