I have heard that .edu/.gov links have been devalued by Google. I do not have any evidence to this but wondering if anyone else does have any evidence? It would make sense since so many people simply try to spam forums on University web pages to get .edu links.

Is a .gov link any more "authoritative" than a .com link?

.gov links are usually more beneficial than .com links in my experience but it is all relative to your competition...

well.. that's because it is a search engine, to help you find .EDU/.GOV sites where you can put your backlink.

it will only show .edu/.gov sites in the search result, quite similar with dofollow search engine which will only give you dofollow blogs / sites in the search result. For me it's quite helpful as it saves a lot of time to sort the search result from regular search engines.

It's very hard to leave a decent comment on .edu and .gov. What kind of non-spam comment can you leave on edu/gov when your website talks about lawnmowers or coffee machines? It's all serious topics there! Most of them are outdated by several years too.

No wonder it's spammed to the death with "great blog", "I love it"...
