Google algorithm change? Anyone else's sites dropping like flies today/this week?

So this morning when I went to check all my sites' rankings (like I do every morning), I noticed that like 10 of them had lost their top spots and are now at the bottom of page 1 or on page 2! Ouch, it hurt to see that. I don't know what I could have done to all those sites that could have gotten them all to fall off like that at once. I know all about the Google dance, but I mean, come on, ten sites at once? I'm wondering if anyone knows of anything crazy that Google is doing over there in terms of an algorithm change or if anyone else has seen their sites drop off a bit today? I'm scared

I am seeing the same thing, but most of my sites are only 6-8 weeks old so I figure they are just dancing around. But maybe not.

One of my sites went from pages in pos 5-15 to 700

. Also, Google has a problem today with showing page counts in webmaster tools.

Doesn't this affect 50% of the people? For every site of yours that drops,
doesn't someone's site take its place?

I guess google can only please 50% of the people.
50% being a very rough number.

Just keep doing massive amounts of good things, Chris!

I myself only check SERP's on an infrequent basis. I look at other
stats. Checking your SERP frequently is going to make you aware that
in a normal day your site may bounce around quite a bit.

I had a lot (maybe 10-25) of sites, I have over 100 domains with amazon products and, simply go from page one and two to nowhere to be found. I was working on one site in particular and had gotten it to where it was floating between 10-11. Another had dropped significantly after mayday but I got it back to page one number five or so and suddenly any of my sites that were ranking went to either nothing or page six or worse.

This was over a month ago.... I am not even sure when and now they just bounce around in space... I use rank checker and sometimes they seem to be moving forward when all of a sudden they will drop another 100 or so places. SH

I hate google's power as my sites are completely relevant and should be on page 1 or 2 for many but...... oh well, I just keep plugging away

Moved from 40 place to NOWHERE. I am in a middle of a backlink campaign so it can be that also..

Funny you should say that, a couple of mine have shot up this week as though they were a cola with mentos dropped into them

There might be some changes going one. One of my domain (2 months old) was ranking 8-12 and it went to 50+. Definitely Google dance. Hope they come back soon. By the way for me it was started on 9th.

My sites are all new... And I need to STOP editing and tweaking them!!! BARGLE!

They are dancing their a$$e$ all up and down the town!!

One site 6 months old with about 20 pages has disappeared. The content was relevant and I had more backlinks then any of the top 10 sites. I was thinking it was either because I had used Unique Article Wizard or it had lots of links to Amazon.

Many of my sites have an iframe Amazon store on one of the pages. Does Adsense have issues with either links to Amazon or with an Amazon store?
