Link wheels are definitely a solid tool in the SEO marketers arsenal.

You know one think you might do is take a look at SEO marketer's websites. They usually have a list of services, where you can see what is being done. One of the popular ones (I think) is owned by a warrior here and is Traffic Sage

You can look at his package page and see what services he provides and use it as a list of what you should do. Link wheels, video marketing, Social bookmarking, Article marketing...etc.

...And if you're smart and have a little cash...you outsource it!

Now I asked if this traffic stuff could be outsourced and people said no. Do you think I could find someone on ODesk?

I have read that Google can easily identify that kind of link wheel now, because it leaves an obvious footprint (circular). I wouldn't doubt it, either.

That's the gist of it... albeit it is more of a simple one but still would help somewhat in your link building efforts...

There is a lot of debate of the best way to build link wheels... By hand, or with software like SENuke, Magic submitter, etc.,... Also debated how many levels deep they should be and how...

There is tons of information on link wheels in general and everyone has a different opinion...

Here are a few examples of the debate:

You can definitely outsource it. First of all that's what SEO marketers are anyway. People own a site and hire these folks to do the marketing for them.

However what most of those marketers do is create the tasks (building link wheels, write articles, create videos) and hire outsourcers (oDesk is great for a lot of this) to do it. It's a whole business model

Matt, that's pretty funny being that Google is probably ONE of the LARGEST link wheels on the Internet. Oh, and if you think all of their backlinks are natural, you are fooling yourself even more.

Jennifer, I didn't have time to look at the sample in your original post but suffice it to say that linkwheels do work when set up properly. Rackverse, mentioned Traffic Sage, the brainchild of WF Members Ron Douglas and Michael Ambrosio, here is a pictorial of "A" type of link wheel they set up. This is "A" type of a link wheel you deploy when you are in fiercely competitive markets and niches...

Here's what you need to know, no matter if you are deploying a linear linking strategy, a basic link wheel, a closed link wheel or a open link wheel, the point is, you need to have a strategic plan set up to build BLs on a consistent basis.

Moreover, you need to learn and then quickly dismiss the SEO myths, hype, chatter, opinions and conjecture that ultimately leads the masses to IM paralysis by way of opinion fueled analysis.

REMEMBER THIS: In the IM and SEO world, Case Studies RULE not opinions!

You are on the right path; stay on it and don't be deterred.

I have a "broken" link wheel of 15 web 2.0 sites. You just need to break the wheel somewhere so it doesn't "complete"

The idea you can create a linking structure that is anything other than 1 links, and google not be able to figure it out is absurd.

Think about this logic...

1 person comes up with a linking strategy (let's assume they're a very smart person).

1,000 people at Google (let's assume they're smart, too) get paid to figure this stuff out. Oh yeah, they have an unlimited budget and more technology than 99.9% of the corporations in the world.

Do you really think they can't figure out an "open" link wheel. Or a link pyramid?

The question is really more do they care?

Considering there are people on this forum that within about 5 minutes can uncover a site's "link strategy" I'm pretty sure Google can too.

i agree with you but just wondering why wouldnÄt google do anything about it? all the want is ONLY natural linkbuilding so why are they accepting any kind of search engine manipulation
