Best method to speed up indexing of articles in article directories as of December 2010?

Hi all,

So, what's the best proven (as in fastest) method to speed up the indexing of articles submitted to the various article directories?

Is the best method as of December 2010 still posting links to them on sites such as Squidoo, Hub Pages, Weebly etc? Social media such as Digg, Stumbleupon, Reddit, Delicious etc. isn't much use anymore is it, given how most block links to article directory domains?

In my experience, article directories such as Ezinearticles, Articlesbase and Ideamarketers have fast crawl rates, and there's actually no need to build 2nd tier links to them to get indexed. You'll notice it if you've set google alerts for your sites.

Also, Yahoo Answers have a fast crawl rate, you can promote your stuffs there for indexation purposes

Ezine seems to be fast but not so sure about GoArticles. I guess I'll give it a few more days.

If you're writing articles for backlinks - bookmark and ping your articles like a wild man!

If you're writing articles to rank in Google - Take it slow and steady

I'm writing and posting articles for backlink purposes mainly. Each time an article is approved in a directory I ping its url via pingomatic.com. Not sure if this is the best tool to use but it's the only one I've seen recommended over and over. Always open to suggestions though.
