Arrow I need an SEO Expert opinion, please.

Hello Warriors,

I have a domain which I used for Adsense/CPA previously. It reached a PR1 and received some decent traffic/clicks.

In my infinite wisdom (or stupidity), I shut it down. Since shutting it down around 6 months ago, the domain itself has been forwarded to a CPA offer.

The original content on the site was taken down as well, so that now there is only the domain name, with no hosted content whatsoever.

If I search for the exact domain name in Google, it is still indexed, and is the number one result. The description underneath is a description of the CPA offer. So it is at least "up to date".

Also, there are lots of links to the domain name which appear in the SERP's due to other sites previously linking to my site (I suppose).

So, finally, here's my question. Did I commit "domain suicide"? Can I go back now and refurbish this domain with new content? Will that just confuse the heck out of the search engines? Better off scrapping this domain? Or, make a bigger and better Adsense/CPA site than ever before?

I'm sure I left out some important details, but I am interested in a SEO expert's opinion.

All I ask is that you focus on my question, and not remind me of my idiotic mistake of taking down the site. I'm fully aware of that already.

Thanks Warriors/Best Wishes

Yes, you can still and try to revamp or revive the site using the same domain name. I'm quite sure that search engines know what to do once they've indexed your new content, I don't think that they'll get confused in any way as well. But don't expect it to stay on the same position on the SERPs, since new algorithms might check for your dead pages once they reevaluate your previously built links. There's no harm in trying

Google may have treated the new page as it's new content and it may stay around for some time. If you let it go on without any content, it will probably slowly die down from the SERPs. If you plan to "resurrect" by retaining its ranking, put content relevant to the keywords it's currently ranking.

While this is not a guarantee to maintain ranking, I'm pretty sure it will die soon without any content underneath it, unless you keep bringing backlinks to it (which is probably the reason why it hangs in there).

Domain suicide? Not quiet

Although when you bring it back you may lose your pr if you haven't alread and even your links, but there is one thing you have gained. You gained domain age, in gogles eyes if you start posting conent they will look at your aged site with a greater amount of trust then. Nwly registered one so in my non expert opinion, I would say get it up and running once again.

Thanks Warriors

I should be a little more clear, since obviously SEO is not my strength.

Google only returns the "DomainNameItself.com" in its search results. I'm not ranking for any keywords or content at all, and rightfully so, since the content was abandoned 6 months ago.

All of the other search results are sites that have my domain name featured in THEIR content. Maybe they linked to me months ago or something.

@Look4VGames - I hadn't considered the "age advantage", cool.

The domain is still cached in Google so it retains all its history...

No problem at all..

Now get to work

Thanks again Warriors

It seems as though my circumstances are not as bleak as I may have thought.

Instead of sticking around here, I'm off to get working on it!

Best wishes.

I suggest you to 301 redirect the old indexed URL to new one with similar content.

Example.
let's say that your previous URL was:
/search-engine-optimization/howto-to-link-build.php

I suggest you tu redirect this URL to a new one which similar content (an article about howto link build).

Then it's important to get a few new, strong link and the domain will start to rank well
