Oh dear...Google's on to me! ![]() At the worst possible time, one of my seasonal sites has decided to jump down 10 pages for a bunch of my top keywords. Sucks plenty because I was ranked on page 1 for 5 high volume keywords and doing quite nicely over the past 15 days. ![]() Nevermind, it was always going to happen as I only created the site 3 weeks ago, even though rankings seemed pretty settled over the past 4 or 5 days. Fingers crossed it jumps back up in time for a few more sales before the end of the Christmas rush. I'm going to find a couple of related, high-pr blog to comment on to see if that quickens up the climb back to the top. Does anyone have any other and/or better ideas? I understand there's not much I can really do apart from wait however long, but I'm not too fussed as these things happen. Just wanted to know what others do or would do in this situation? |

As a programmer (this is just an educated guess) it seems for google to move a site or do a major ranking update it has to do an insertion type sort where stuff temporarily gets pushed to the bottom of the array until it is repositioned. Think of manually arranging things on your desk, you may move your expensive laptop to a drawer for a while until everything is sorted out on the desk. Some sites that were around mine are still at position 700. | |

Search engines normally updates and It will takes time to set the normal rankings in google. It is recommended that you should also enhance your site some fresher content.

Wow! It's honestly felt like an age, but it's been only TWO weeks, and my site is back up in the rankings for my targetted keywords. (for google.com at least - nowhere on .co.uk though) I'm surprised how short the time was because it felt like ages, and even though I've missed out on the Xmas rush, it's nice to know the website didn't stay down for too long. I'm even ranking higher for a few keywords. I just hope it lasts. =) |
