I've been doing this for a few years now and whilst I like social bookmarking and it does generate traffic, I don't find it to be particularly sticky. I still don't think you can beat fresh, unique, regularly updated content.

Looked at spin success. They have got years experience and great testimonials. Did not look at there prices though. Does the price appeal you?

PPC might be the fastest, but it's a tough learning curve .. email marketing is another fast way, a lot cheaper but a lot harder too, and a pain in the ass so not worth it ... hmm what else? i know a few really killer ways to get IMMEDIATE and high quality traffic, one is youtube viral videos .. the other i'm not gonna say :-)

I like social bookmarking, sites like twitter, digg, stumble, etc. By just doing this and submitting to sites, I am already a PR2. I guess you just need to be consistent and every day plug away at submitting your links. Thank you for everyone's great comments.

I think you can add content syndication and article marketing which doesn't cost anything. 2 and 3 are good for me but the first one PPC, is something I shy away from because I cannot put the money to do it.

I am fairly new at this, I have a bunch of time on my hands so. it seems like at least half the time I make a comment, it doesnt show up and the form is still filled out with all my info except the comment. My favorite ways to generate traffic are forum sigs and article marketing. As someone mentioned a lot of things work very well if you just do them on a consistent basis. Rss feeds work very well to get you indexed in the top Google listings, but the key is finding ways to keep you there.

As mentioned earlier , in order to get the most from your efforts you have to focus and consistently work with any traffic generation technique.

Getting traffic also depend on the topic of your website. For example, if your service or product is interesting to the audiences of social network sites, it will blow up your website.

But if it's not, it might even get noticed.

You can always buy cheap traffic and spend a lot of money on PPC, but if the traffic you are getting is not relevant, they won't even bother sticking around.

Give yourself good 30 days to see some results. It's easier to be friends with people who already have high traffic websites and request them to mention your website/product in one of their posts/articles.

You can use payperpost but to be honest if don't have a good relationship with the publisher, they will just b.s. the recommendation of your site/product.

You need HIGHLY TARGETED TRAFFIC.

How do you get this? By posting relevant content and building your reputation through knowledge.

YOu need to be able to 'know your market' and deliver to them information they are hungry to hear.

Find the places they hang out and participate and you will get lots of targeted traffic. Just throw a heap of crap and the web in the hope that something sticks - is not a good strategy for targeted traffic.

You could get 30 visitors and make more money from them than 5000 visitors.

It is about quality - not quantity.

I think the most important principle is targeting. If you run a blog, post/comment on blogs, forums, etc. There is no end all solution, it all depends on your niche. I research my niche, try to find out how people are going to find my content. If I'm selling an article, I submit to article directories, etc. This should always be an important part of your niche research. Otherwise, you may end up spending too much time/energy trying to drive traffic to an audience that isn't looking for what you're offering. Bottom line: research. That's how I see it, anyway.
