Default How much should I expect to pay for legitimate backlinks?

I don't really have the time or patience to work on building back links my self. I need about 1,500 for one of my keywords, but don't know where to find a good legitimate service. I've checked some at the warriors for hire, like, "20k backlinks for 40$", how can that be real? Does anyone know any real link building services or price estimates? Not looking for any high PR, 1-2 will do.

Why not hire a project Link Builder?
I'm sure you can find better workers in Elance, Odesk and if you want a full time worker, you can try onlinejobs(dot)ph.. If you want them to do that manually, i guess the price could be around $200 in about 2 weeks.

There's a few profile backlinking packages around... they are real* backlinks that are created by Xrumer and other black hat software. The links are from spam accounts on forums that link to you from the account profile page.

*The links do point to your site but only because they are spam.

There are a LOT of link building services around. Some avoid specifying that forum profile linkage doesn't bring you much ranking benefit.
A few things I'd keep in mind though:
Your Page rank depends on the rank and relevance of the content where your backlink is placed. Profile Link page or some level 10 thread in a forum will most likely have PR0 .. and now .. you get the "nofollow" trash spreading like a disease all over the net too. If you pay ... you might as well see what you are going to pay for.

I would like to caution you about doing this, I know its tempting, but let me relate my own experience with using a back link service, I had a PR 2 website I wanted to rank up to PR3 I purchased a link package, and my traffic went up for about 30 days, then my PR went to NA, and has stayed there for the last two years, I still get lots of traffic, just nothing from google, now does every single person on the planet use google, NO, they dont, otherwise, I would have no traffic at all, but it was not worth loosing the nice ranking at that website.

To be honest, thousand backlinks with cheap and fast turn around time is not good choice, trust me, it will be build with bot. Just go with manually link building for the best result and not risky for your website.

Well, I can show you what used to be a great money making website that was trashed after buying a back link package, I basically paid good money, so that my PR2 website could be black balled by google, something that I will not do again.

I would love to see the site, if you don't mind. Pure curiosity.

Thanks!

EDIT: Just wanted to say that Google PR isn't the same as actual search engine rankings. A PR0 website with 50k backlinks can easily outrank a PR3 website with less (but higher "quality") backlinks.

You say your traffic got better, but rankings dropped. Where is your traffic coming from?

Did you mean to say your website PR dropped or your actual search engine rankings dropped? (they aren't the same thing)

If your Google rankings disappeared (as in your website was on page one and got dropped to page ten or so), then where is your traffic coming from now?

You say that "you lost a good money maker". Then you mention PR. PR and "money making" don't really relate in any way (in most cases). Has your traffic stopped converting? Are you getting more "trash" traffic? (again - where did you traffic come from before and where does it come from now?)

Why is Google PR so important to you? Were you selling homepage backlinks or planning to flip the site? (if you don't mind me asking)

Not attacking you or anything - just trying to figure out what happened to your website.

Sure will PM you the link, I am working on it now trying to get it back into the good graces of Google, but everything I have tried has so far failed.

I'm not saying that you are wrong, but it doesn't seem very logical to me that a search engine will ban you for the links pointing TO your website.

Are you sure you didn't link back to some questionable websites? Or maybe you went from almost zero backlinks to a HUGE number of spammy backlinks?

All I'm saying is that it's a really strange situation to be blacklisted for activities that took place OFF-SITE so to speak.

??

This is very curious... did it get deindexed entirely? Did you change other stuff at the time also?

I'm thinking the same thing as zivkovicp and I do believe that Matt Cutts has even eluded to the fact that nothing being done offsite can harm you for this reason. So, curious to find out more about your site!

If you hire from India and Philippine or Pakistan you will have to pay less, but hiring from USA, Canada or Europe will cost a lot. Odesk is a good choice, but you will have to closely look in the work history of the employer first. If you are hiring as a fixed price contract that will be much cheaper as compared to hourly contract.

I tried Winson Yeung's highqualitybacklinks.com. They were pretty decent.

No, it was a white hat site, aimed at education and reading, amazon was the main revenue partner, used to make like 700 per month in amazon sales, not strange at all, my friend just try it out and see what happens when your ranked, now if your a PR0 or NA then I suspect it is not an issue but when your already ranking and you buy back links, look out I have owned that website for over 7 years, never did a thing against the TOS over at google except for one time when I purchased some back links,

I would love to get my PR2 back but that was two years ago and so far I cant get back into google

Yes, entirely de indexed, from google, now Bing, yahoo, msn, I am running around 2000 to 3000 links, google, Zero, nada, nothing.

Never so much as breathed a black hat word on that site, it was all white hat, and very friendly too

Of all the websites that I own, this is the only one that was De indexed, it was also the only one that I purchased back links, I would say that is very suggestive of what not to do in the future.

If you are willing to invest 1-2 months of your time, you can easily get 1500 backlinks for free. Here's all you have to do:
  • submit an article per day to one of the article directories, I use 3-4 different ones rotating each one for the new article I have written
  • submit the article links to social network sites, twitter, and anywhere else you can submit linkes
  • try this free link building site: IMAutomator
In short, write articles and spread the links of those articles all over the place.

As bloggers pick up your articles for their blogs, your links will build organically. I'm building 100-150 natural links per week with this strategy and it's starting to mushroom because the syndication effect is starting to kick in.

Yeah, kind of hard not to come to that same conclusion but yet, if you could get someone deindexed that easily I would love to know where you got those links so I can send them to my competitors

I actually had a similar thing happen to one of my lily white sites - this is about 4 or 5 years ago but I didn't do any mass linking to it (that was before all these profile link packages and automation) but one day it just got deindexed. That was back when google used to have a major update every so often and I think it just was a casualty of some algo change. Anyway, it was deindexed for about 2 years and then suddenly one day it came back. Strange.

I don't think getting more links to it will help you, but what do I know? Of course there are other places to get traffic as you already know.

Lee

Hey, just thought of this - since it is already deindexed why not just clone it onto another domain and get that one indexed?
