Hi, I recently started building Blogger blogs trying to sell Amazon products. My question is which is more effective to backlink, EzineArticles or Blogger blog URL (if not both). I am writing one EzineArticle per product and did some blog comments, and actually have been able to get two different articles on page 1 Google. With 230 link clicks from six Blogger blogs, I have made 7 sales for $17.00 commission. Thanks for your reply and any marketing suggestions you may have for me to be successful. Jessica |

Both are good. But I think you'll get more links from ezinearticles as it more visitors to their website.

If you can manage to do both, then do both! ![]() I use Ezinearticles, and have never used a blogger blog, though after reading this post I might give it a try and see how well it works. |

You mean to the article itself? Can you find ANY article at ezinearticles with backlinks or PR anymore? I know it was recommended in the not to distant past, but it's not displaying backlinks or PR anymore. As for blogger someone could just get out of the wrong side of the bed one morning and hit the "Reprt spam blog button" and get your blog disabled. I know people have been successful with them, but... Not to sure if I'd put to much effort into backlinking to either one. JMO |

I have several hundred EZA articles, and a couple of dozen blogs, and IMHO EZA is a better performer, at least for me.

>You mean to the article itself? Yes, backlink the article. I understand what you mean about the Blogger possibility. I'm thinking about building a matching Wordpress blog, then backlink the wp blog url. Make sense? Jessica |

Hi Jessica, Quote:
Almost anything's better than building backlinks to EZA copies of articles. But Blogger's very risky because you don't own your blog there - they do, and they can suddenly take it offline if they decide you're using it to generate traffic to another site (that includes affiliate links). The information in a few posts might help you, if you want to take a look: this one, this one, this one and this one, for example, and the other parts of the threads in which they appear.

I still haven't experienced much success with Ezine in term of back link generating, but the articles itself there receive a good amount of traffic and generate leads too.

Your own domain (pick a non keyword specific domain) would be the surest, and even if you later decided to abandon it you could simply redirect the links to another domain and the time building the links woudn't be lost. It's better to link directly to your domain, but sometimes when experimenting with a new niche I'll use the redirect.

Both are great. Really, it all depends on your content. I will say this, it is easier to get a high search engine ranking for a keyword using Ezinearticles than it is with most blogs. Or at least I have had more success. But both work great and if done properly.

There's every chance of a Wordpress.com blog getting disabled. If there's any suggestion of any form of monetisation, affiliate link, directing traffic to "offers", selling/promoting anything, or any commercial or financial at all on a wordpress.com blog, they'll summarily delete it the first time they notice it and/or on receipt of the first "report" about it. A wordpress.com blog is, in fact, far more likely to get disabled than a Blogger blog. ![]() What's needed is a self-hosted Wordpress.org blog, with which one can be in control of one's own site and business and not subject to other people's (changeable) terms of service and their often inconsistent interpretations of them.

Don't use only 2 sites. You can also use Wordpress, Weebly, Squidoo for example. This way your backlinks look more natural. If you build only from 1 site, then that's not natural. Hope this helps |

As long as it works then continue what you are doing. maybe you can add up a little twist and make a link wheel on top of that. Andrea |

| They don't allow "commercially motivated backlinks". Backlinks are generating traffic to another site, with a view to financial gain. It would be deleted the minute they notice it, or the minute a competitor "reports" it.

| Probably, I wouldn't know. I've put up some Wordpress blogs years ago with backlinks to my site and they haven't been deleted. Maybe they eventually will that's why I mentioned it would be better with your own domain, just like blogger blogs they could easily be disabled, and I wouldn't put to much effort into it.

Personally, I would create a WP blog, put my content there, and build high quality backlinks to that site... there is soooo much more to SEO than just backlinks. In fact, I would say links only account for 15-20% of SEO. I just analyzed one of our clients websites in a certain market and found that a site with over 200K backlinks was being outranked with a site that had less than 300 total links. |
