widgets with hidden links aren't a new story. however some people are using this method to outrank their competitors. The question is, why isn't google ban them? what can we do to prevent such a thing?

You created 2 WF members to ask the exact same question, less than 1 hour apart? Widgets with hidden links. How to beat this tactic? |

Wouldn't a normal widget not be real links, but flash or javascript? Not even sure of the what this guy is even talking about. You say many people are using them to outrank who knows who, then ask if they work or are trouble? I've said something similar today as follows: "A person could spend a weekend drunk in a hotel room and come up with better idiotic ways to rank." What happened to working on your site content, structure, and getting decent backlinks? I guess we have a new one: Hide your links, outrank your competition. Paul |

| the other post i've seen that this user has indeed the same post. He has greek letters indeed, but if you notice it's for another country (cyprus) and has a different website. Apparently you can notice that and then apologise... so back to my old question. A guy is using the technique i've mentioned (widgets with hidden links) so he outranked many of us for many keywords. So that's propably why you see another person reporting the same thing. So i ask if it's black hat seo, what should we do? Reporting it to google won't make any difference... |
