Default Backlinking to a Redirected Domain

I'm going to start Backlinking to my domain which is being redirected to an affiliate website at the moment. When i get hosted im going to set up my website with it. so it wont be redirected.

Is there any point of backlinking the domain and will it still be ranking fine when i make my new website and transfer the domain on to it?

You can get a head start on your backlink building this way. It will take some time for the SEs to pick up the backlinks either way.

How it takes a just a few minutes to setup hosting and add a temporary site. Why not do that first so you've got some content on there?

No. Especially if you're going to have hosting setup in the next few days. You'll be fine
