Default New Site in Sandbox - How Long Do I Have to Wait on Average

About 2 1/2 months ago - I created a site with unique content. So far, the site has only about eight pages. Google indexed the website's pages in the first part of December (indexed different pages on various days in first part of December). The website went into the sandbox almost immediatly.

I expected this since this was a brand new website. I've built other sites before and had the same thing happed - then bring it back out of the sandbox and rank high on first pages. However, this seems like it's taking longer than usual.

So I'm wondering if I should...

1) Keep backlinking
2) Add more pages (this is a small site and I really can't think of adding anymore pages)
3) Put a sitemap on it - though I usually don't do this on small sites - plus, all the pages are indexed anyway.

Looking forward to your answers.

Yes to all 3 although that still won't guarantee you any google love. It seems they often (although not always) seem to disfavor small very niched sites now.

A lot of my little sites bit the dust when google's algorythyms changed. Some have come back with more content and backlinks but others didn't, no matter what I did. And a few that I didn't bother doing anything with, with very few backlinks or content, have stayed at #1. Go figure.

If you can't think of anything to write about the topic, try to find out if there are any comments or questions on the subject you can answer. If it's product related, look at the product's site to see what kind of comments customers are leaving or what the site itself is saying about the product for ideas. Look to yahoo answers to see if anyone is talking about the niche and also any related forums. After that, see if there are any related topics you can write about.

I always do a sitemap no matter how small the site.

Keep backlinking, Maybe consider purchasing some backlinks from a professional; considering there is no sandbox it has to be due to error in your backlinking strategy, i in no way mean disrespect through that post either, but if you can prove the sandbox to me i will gladly believe you.

Ive had sites that i registered and made in 1 day, and for the whole first week the website was alive i blasted over 400,000 links to it, and what did it do? Took #1 position in google for its keyword and never even saw a google dance, and after about 2 weeks it was sitting with around 15,000 links in google webmaster tools.
