If its not too much to ask, what do you do so that your articles in ezinearticles.com gets a bump in the SE? Or even at least where do you get backlinks for it?... Im using digg.com get backlink on my articles, what other sites could I use... or is there a better method? I know its better to have your own site... but I'm having some kind of a test... and It would be great to have input from the article marketers out there. |

Build a variety of backlinks to your article urls, one way links, blog links (from related niche blogs) to your articles, forum links, even links from other article directories to your article urls. Include the keyword phrase in the anchor text of your link. That would be offpage optimisation, as for onpage optimisation your article should not be stuffed with keywords (which is what people did years ago) but you should use some LSI (similar related words) to your keywords sprinkled througout your article. Include the keyword in your title, with some other words around it eg- Tips for dieting for women (with dieting for women being the keyword). That is the foundation of what i do, and it brings me consistant traffic for months to come! Extra tip: Make sure your title matches your article body. |

If you've done your keyword research properly, there is no need to build backlinks to any article directory article. If you haven't do it. Why, oh why would you want to backlink to articles that are not your own property. (Yes, I know you intelectually own it, but you don't own the directory). Instead build the backlinks to your OWN sites. Best wishes, Sylvia |

But if you are promoting higher competition keywords then you do. The reason why people would do this is because ranking a higher competition keyword is normally easier to do on a popular article directory than on your own website. Or maybe they don't have their own website... | |

@bigmack - i like your name. I agree with everyone else. You optimize an Ezine article just like you would any other web page. So for example, do keyword research, have optimized titles, meta descriptions, content, etc. Then build backlinks of course. |

I agree with Aaron, Sylvia and Matt above in most regards. For instance, I put articles on page one with no backlinks all the time, although, if you have the time and wherewithall, developing backlinks is a more complete option. If you do your keyword research right, there are only a few more things you need to do in your article. Newbies can consider the following method an a,b,c way to rank your articles highly. 1 - Put the keyword phrase as early in the title and first sentence as possible, and as late in the last sentence of the body. 2 - Use the keyword roughly 1.5% of the time in your body, NO MORE! Ex> 5 or 6 times in a 400 word article, 4 or 5 times in a 300 word article, etc. 3 - Get your LSI researched words list and use as many as possible sprinkled throughout. 4* - Here is one thing I do that works wonders that I have not seen many people talk about. Put LSI words relating to your keyword phrase AS CLOSE AS POSSIBLE TO YOUR KEYWORD PHRASE. Google understands LSI (obviously), but ALSO lends greater power when these words are NEAR the main keyword phrase. The shorter the distance the spiders have to crawl to find two or three highly relevant words or phrases that help the reader relate to the keyword topic, the better. (I have also found I rank consistently higher than others for these LSI words themselves when they are bunched together.) 5 - Google likes longer titles that are "catchy" and have LSI words more than a short 3 word title. "Natural Dog Food - Holistic Pet Food Secrets Your Vet Does Not Want You to Know About!" works wayyyy better for ranking purposes than "Natural Dog Food". It really is that easy. Also I have found that regardless of the topic, 400 to 500 word articles seem to rank higher. I don't know if others have found this to be true, but my findings are heavily slanted toward the above "formula". After you get into a groove writing a few articles in this way, you will find it comes as second nature and you can punch out quality articles that rank with little to no other work (backlinks) in 15 to 20 minutes. Hope this helps. |

Why build links for EZA? That's crazy. Let EZA do its job. Build backlinks to your webpages. Remember, your article page on EZA has tons of other links. Why give other people link juice? Paul |

The main aspect of article writing or article submission is, one should write good and unique content having good relevant keyword embedded in it. After writing that, one should submit it in good dofollow article sites, if done that one need not to worry about the promotion of the article, it would automatically get cached by search engines. Well, if someone really wants to promote an article, one should promote it the same way as he/she promotes a site. |

1. make your article strictly relevant to your targeted keywords (inclusion on title, url, used as anchor text, mentioned on the first paragraph). 2. you don't really need to build links to it, because it would look spammy. But the best ways to build links to your ezine articles is through: - promoting it on relevant forum topics - Q&A sites like Yahoo Answers - submitting your Ezinearticle's RSS feed to RSS directories Anyway, without links, articles from Ezine can naturally build its rank on SERPs, given that the site has a fast crawl rate and a good internal linking structure. You just have to be smart with your keyword placements on the article. |

Ezine won't allow you to stuff keywords, so don't worry about that, first off worry about the article's optimization. - Is a long tail keyword used? - How many times does the primary keyword get searched? - What is the competition like for the primary keyword? - Do you have any secondary keywords? - How many times do these secondary keywords get searched? Then it's just a case of building backlinks - Blog Commenting - Forum Profiles - Forum sig-links Then you should start to see some good internal linking from ezine |
