Hi there, I am looking into Press Releases for getting some backlinks and wanted to know how many backlinks you typically get from a Press Release submission. If cost wasn't a consideration, what would be some Press Release submission services that you would recommend and how many backlinks can you typically expect from using their services. |

It all depends on how well the PR has been syndicated and what site you used to submit them.

"Numbers of backlinks" isn't what press releases are about, at all. It matters what they are and where they are. For "numbers of backlinks" you can submit a copy of any article to 1,000 article directories using some submission software, after all, but it doesn't mean that the backlinks will be of much value, because they'll almost all be on non-context-relevant PR-0 pages and most of them will only be temporary anyway. There are similar considerations with press releases. Quote:

Thanks. Pardon me for my ignorance. But don't experts recommend Press Releases because they can easily be "picked up" by other sites. I was wondering what factors play a role in having these press releases picked up by other sites. Also what would be the difference between using a service like PRWeb compared to free press release sites? |

Yes, Press Releases are a great way to build backlinks because you will get a lot of links from many very different sites. One big catch though - your story has to be interesting or otherwise your press release will be ignored. PRWeb is a great tool for this, but I would wait a little while and try the free ones until you get good at this strategy. |

depends on entirely on how news worthy your press release is. You won't get much traction form it if what your are announcing is not notable in some way.

It depends on a few things as people have already said. As far as press release services I am a fan of prlog.org (not affiliated) It's free and I always get a backlink from each press release I submit. Some of my press releases have made it to Bing news. ~Russ |

I just used PRWEB for my first press release submission and I have over 30k indexed pages showing up in Google now with my press release title in them. The problem is, when I search for how many backlinks were created, I show 0... Why is this?

I used the pr service from warrior forum, although they claim to be on domains with PR up to PR 9, most links do not cached in google, I believe this is due to duplicate content. Did I get a bump on traffic? Yes, but only a few days, after that, traffic back to normal. |

If done correctly, I know you can build links to the site, but for some reason my links are not showing up at all even though Google shows over 30k results for my press release title...
