Default eBay versus Adsense

In December eBay earnings kicked Google's butt. Of course it was the Christmas buying season - but people clicked on eBay at such a higher rate than Adsense that for me anyway, Adsense earnings will never catch up this year.

I was a little surprised as eBay has been losing affiliates and overall ecommerce share. Maybe promoting Amazon would have done even better.

And I was assuming Adsense earnings would be higher from increased holiday competition.

But it looks like merchants relying on PPC instead of selling on eBay may have a disappointing season.

Lol, I hope that's a joke.

Or, is it all about spamming the fancy sig image?

If you guys ever make it into the main forum or have a legal question you would know I don't joke - whatever you think is a joke.

Why create websites trying to generate income from Adsense when you can get much more revenue from eBay?

And the flip side of that for sellers is why use Adwords when more sales can be made using the Buy it Now feature in eBay?

If you're not looking at your statistics, thinking about your strategies for the next year, and anticipating where more money may be flowing across the net, then maybe you should consider just that.

Ebay is a joke compared to Adsense in my view.

I sold thousands of dollars on ebay and got barely pennies per click. It's sad to see $1800 of product sold in a week and getting $10 in compensation for it.

Adsense I average much higher than my highest ebay earnings on my worst month per click.

Can you make money with Ebay 4 years from now without any work (I do with Adsense)?

Sure it won't make me rich, but it has financed other IM projects that keeps me from getting a 9-5 job.

I've never payed a single penny out of pocket for anything IM related in the last 4-years, Adsense pays for everything from sites that I built over the last 4-years.

If someone sent you a check in the mail once a month (every month) for sites that havn't been touched in a year or so, would you cash the check (I do)?

It really depends on the niche. Certain product niches do really well with eBay while certain service niches do very well with Adsense. You have to find the right match.

The sad thing though is that under the old payment system eBay Partner Network was using about 2 years ago (and CJ before that) I would have made over 5 figures last month. But, under the new system, well, it was good but whole lot less than it would have been in the good ole days.
