hey, I heard that Google AdWords has really cracked down on affiliate marketing with PPC on Adwords... I would like to know if Google AdWords affiliate marketing is still a viable business model? I'd really appreciate your responses... Thanks! Alain |

They are definitely cracking down. I made a few sales using adwords last year, but then for some reason they decided they didn't like my site and sent me an email warning me about it. They then sent another email 3 hours later, and a following 3 hours later my account was suspended for good. This all happened while I was sleeping! I had no luck getting my account restored. So now I prefer to use good old SEO and get natural traffic. I find it better anyway.

Why bother with the hassle of pleasing the ridiculous rules of Adwords, when you can just go to msn, facebook, pof, or other second tier ppc engine? I think there is still room for doing affiliate marketing with Adwords, but your site should meet their stringent criteria. Just do yourself a favour and start with other ppc engines. Move on to adwords later when you need to scale. |

In general it would appear that Google maybe playing a dangerous game, as many PPC keywords that were 15c two years ago are now $2.50 each, an so it would appear that they are trying to squeeze the guys at the bottom out, you can do split testing and set your bid to $2.51 and yes you will be charged that, so someone somewhere is prepared to pay that per click. So our advice is still use adwords but err on the cautious side with long tail keywords. |

I think it depends on the niche. Weight loss and make money niches are pretty much done for on Adwords. Some of the others are still viable, but who knows for how long.

Google adwords is sill very good. The issue with most people is that they don't go through the Google adwords help resources as to the requirement for the type of landing pages/websites to be promoted through PPC.

The major challenge is that you can't (anymore) have a display link to say www.affiliateproduct.com and the actual URL being a hoplink (or anything else that is different to the displayed URL) the way around that is to direct people to a site you own, and for them to go from there to the affilaite long winded IMHO and expensive. |
