Default Local seo vs. regular seo

Hi there,

i wonder whats so specific different in doing so called "local seo" compared with regular seo. Shure, you will be targeting the famous plumper+city and usually there should be less competiton for these kind of local keys. What would be the best practice doing local seo ? Could you please share your experience ?

Thanks !

Local SEO would be easier and would benefit you more if the product/service you are offering is location-sensitive.

For example :
Regular Search : Book Baseball Game Tickets Online
Local Search : Book New York Yankees Tickets Online

You get a more targeted customer in the second case, and you have less competition from other locations' ticket booking sites.

In doing local SEO, focus on the location-related keywords and anchor text for links.

Get links from sites related to the location.

Agreed. The main thing is the relevancy. The key for the site rankings.

Yes it will definitely be easier. Basically because the keywords are less generic and are long tailed keywords. This usually means less competition and makes it easier to rank for

Big G is looking at your "local" SEO now way more than most so-called webmasters say.

You see this all the time on pagerank ZERO blogs that get over 100 or so unique visitors a day from G, Bing/Y!

Try setting up a Wordpress blog one day, write some decent posts that are titled with long-tails and watch it get traffic. No linking - nothing. No SEO.

Terry Zulit Auto-Blog Formula - A CUSTOM WP auto-blog that ACTUALLY gets traffic, PHRASE and WORD rewriting to source code - Google caches ALL posts. See Adsense earning screenshot
